Attention all guardians, this is a serious issue.
The variants of the OWL disease have been spreading rapidly through person to person. What ever you do, DO NOT CONTRACT THE DISEASE. Restrict yourself to patrols or not playing at all. Contracting the disease may give a buff for Exp or glimmer, but should not be trusted. A disease is a disease.
Patient "Zero" contracted the disease from the nightfall, most likely because the OWL website states that it started there. The crucible has been spreading it further, making it increasingly more common.
There are 5 variants of the disease. Each holds different buffs, but still shall not be trusted. The disease is spread by having an infected kill a non-infected using most likely their super or light. Avoid crucible and strikes all together.
I'm calling all of you to steer clear of crucible, a quarantine must be started. Until we know how to stop it and cure it, it will just infect more people. Please bump this post, the more involved in it whom aren't infected the better. Together we can find a cure to OWL to make our Rise of Iron adventures safe.
Signed,
~Analytical Ghost
Side note: Please pm me with anything findings or such. I'm Looking for the exact ways it spreads, rarity of disease type, and places it spreads most. Thanks.
Important News: Getting a kill with a super and having a teammate pick up an orb of light will spread OWL. Defender Titans can not what so ever spread OWL. Please use this subclass in crucible to be safe.

Okay I know the buffs are cool and all, but it basically screams "shoot me, my face is right here where all the flies are because I'm dead anyway" when you're trying to go all ninja-cloaked on people.
-
You can pass it on to other guardians while on partol.... That's how I fund it, someone in the fire team had it and about 15min later I had it.
-
You can pick up the cure from Eris. Details described here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/213025704?showBanned=0&path=0

(Rubbing belly, picking lent out of belly button) "it's ok, I'm a virgin, don't mind this, it just means I'm special...you can be special too." (Touch)... (walks over to friends) "ha got another."

Edited by Pahvi: 9/16/2016 4:37:30 AMGot a few from poe41 to my hunter, tainted light...

Edited by MstrNiceGUY: 9/16/2016 3:47:31 AMYou can also get it by killing someone who is infected
-
Does it go away when you log out and turn your console off?
-
But is there a cure? I randomly got it earlier and kinda want it gone.
-
Right. Bungie is doing this to make people want to play the game less to hype up Rise of Iron..
sigh
-
I played the crucible for 40 minutes against infected guardians, was lucky enough to not contract the disease, I wanna stay clean!

Had two of the rep "diseases" along with a crucible rep booster. Received 298 rep for a win
-
Can you only get this in pvp or can you get it anywhere? I don't have it but wish I do.
-
The one time that being a legacy player saves my Guardian from the stds. Very nice.

XP and Reputation boost nuff said
-
Hopefully the disease deletes everyone's character who is infected. That way Rise of Iron lasts longer

I'm uninfected as of now. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad.
