Am I the only person that's never seen a Grimoire card or even knows absolutely nothing about the 'story' despite being a day 1 player ??

You aren't the only one. And it's actually nice to find common company. Kind of rare on this forum now. I might consider reading the flashcards if there was something in the game that actually stirred up a bit of interest in me. People, locations, or concepts that can be learned about in game just enough to know they have a real impact on what's going on so that I have a reason and true desire to go look for more information. An off hand name toss, expecting me to believe something is important without question, or stating the obvious/describing events with obvious outcomes just don't cut it in terms of making me want to learn more. If you want me to look deeper into someone, show me that they're a character, not just a plot device. If there's an important event I should know about, don't just reference it, give me a clear link to the ongoing impact it's had so that I have a place to start looking for information.
It's a lot like the character Kup, from transformers. I like Kup, but his random, non-specific information was used as humor. Just because he dropped the names of important events/people doesn't make them significant, so there's no reason look into them any further. Sure, I could try to look into why there were so many casualties in one of the battles he mentioned, or how inverting polarities of a tractor beam was the solution to something significant in winning the battle; and I could look up what a petro-rabbit is, but there's no reason to. None of it is significant to the actual story.
I've always compared this game to a big action movie. You walk in, see some fighting, and think it's cool at first. But it's just a continuous battle with no real motivation or development. Then after you've walked out of the theater, a guy hands you a stack of flashcards and claims they hold the "deep" story that couldn't be seen in the movie. Then when you look at them, the cards are just a series of fragmented thoughts and vague descriptions with enough open ends to make people want real answers and give an easy way to make a sequel out of anything.
Man, that was long. I need to stop getting on here when I'm tired. Tend to ramble a bit.
You will love the game 200% more if you delve into the lore behind the space magic. It's very interesting.

Thing is with that . The 2 people mentioned above I've never even heard of as they're not even in the game. So if they are not in the game they may as well not be in the story. My guardian doesn't even have a name for God's sake . How can I get attached to a supposed story when you can't name your own guardian or meet the people within the story. Everything should all be intertwined and linked. All these people should be unlock able by quests or challenges . As it is . They don't exist unless you go search for them specifically online

That's the point of it being grimoire. You find out more over time. This is why bungir has a 10-year plan.

I might not have 10 years
