They will do exactly jack shit about this long outage. The total number of players registered to destiny is in the 10millions. The number with this issue is less that .1%. They "care" about as much as you'd care if you lost a quarter on the street. Get real they aren't hyper focused on a tiny #of peoole, they don't care how much money you spent, they don't care if you quit playing their game. It'll get fixed when it gets fixed. Find something else to do with yourself in the meantime.
