Does using a VPN reduces ping?
When traceroute with my ISP DNS there are a bunch of locations and 100-150ms on them. On a VPN (host is in another city) there are few, and up to 50ms.

its complicated lol(this was my 9yo son) Ping is a good tool to prove basic connectivity, and a very very rough guide to the quality of the link from your PC to the end node. ie its good for "is it up" situations. tracert will tell you where in the network a node is down. and basic guide to network saturation. You are connecting your network across your ISP, to another network that may be faster or slower than your ISP. I have never used a VPN for gaming and I am not an expert in Video Conferencing (same router tech and QoS required for this as gaming), so I don't really know the end result here. Sorry dude, but its complicated. If you really want an answer, I'll ask our VC experts. PM me.
