Question for you. I used to always run wired. It worked fine. Than all of a sudden for 2 straight weeks it was booting me with weasel and other error codes. I checked my connection and I was 150down and a fluctuating up from 1-8.
I switched to wireless. Im at 50 down and 10 up but it's stable. It's not fluctuating. It seems to have fixed my issue.
Why is it doing that? What can I do to fix this? I would rather run wired but for some odd reason it's messing things up. Thanks if you reply.

it could be that your cables are in bad condition, pinched or bared, or you have put the cables too close to a power source and are getting electromagnetic interference due to cross cutting, Or your Ethernet cable may be over 100M without a repeater. It could be that there is dust in your port on the console or the router. Dust is a fantastic insulter, and can stop a kettle lead from turning on a PC (I have seen this a lot). Could be a damaged ethernet port on either your PS4 or your router. could be the router itself with down level firmware or a busted router. Could also be other applications taking up the bandwidth, or even just the time of day you checked it. It could also be that your ISP was running maintenance in your area. Could be that your router needed a restart. When troubleshooting, its always important to check and re-seat and if nessecary, replace cables with known good test cables. Always check the physical layers of the network first, before digging any deeper

What is considered close to a power source?

I would consider it 1.5m. Buy Cat6 cables or wrap cat5e cables in tinfoil to shield them (not joking BTW. Had to do this at my friends as he had his cable going over his microwave.

I have done most of what you say here. I have even had a new line from the street to my house. I will try to blow out the connections and try a new cable. Thanks.
