Okay look I'm not a pvp god or anything. Hella average. BUT I have games (usually in a row) where I have like 25 kills and 4 deaths. Every shot is on point. Snipes? Pssshhh hitting like a shotgun main claims snipers hit. All I can think is hot diggty damn I'm -blam!-ing killing this game. Then for about 10 games in a row i may scrape by with a crispy .10 KD. Trials? Trials? Shoot I'll smack people with 2200 Elos and then lose to people with 1400 Elos.. Blows my mind how inconsistent I am and it's absolutely nerve racking. Lol. Any one else feel my pain?

I started playing on a 19' monitor and I've become so much better, faster, and more consistent. I never thought it would make that huge of a difference but it has. Granted I was playing on a 55' tv before so that was horrible. Also brought my sensitivity up to 5 sometimes 6 and i feel that's helping me play better, especially in c.q.c.
-
does anybody want to raid. Im 299 i want to play "catch-up"...
-
I'm right there with you, sometimes I'm on sometimes I'm off
-
Sometimes you can't beat the gun. You can own the person but not the gun. Most of the time you need to find a new strategy, which is hard since the old one got you a good game. That help?
-
Before my sabbatical in November I use to go from highest points and kills with a decent 2+ kd in one game to god awful in the next. In the 2 weeks I've been semi back, I'm just god 0.14 kd awful.
-
Usually takes me 30 games to get the 7 wins Shaxx bounty.
-
I think it's dependent on who is host. Sometimes I feel like I'm landing all my shots and just wreck everyone and sometimes I feel like I'm also a 10th of a second behind everyone else and constantly getting outgunned. In the first scenario I probably had host or someone close to me geographically had host. The second one is probably because host was far away.
-
I do. Start looking at your gameplay, especially gunfights you lose (if they are actually fights and you are close.) You'll find your areas of improvement. It definitely helped me, and I doubt my elo is higher than yours.

Yea being inconsistent from time to time is normal, however i refuse to believe its solely on us. PvP is a broken mess as far as im concerned, it just feels totally off. Hit detection is off, animations are off, red bars and lagers still dominate. I have done everything they recomend you do, im hard wired, open ports, nat1, did the hokie pokie, smoked a hooka, gave bungie my right arm and my experience in crucible is still sub par. Im not even a good top tier player so i can imagine what its like for them. Its a shame to becouse i personally feel that the pvp when working right is the best i have ever played, the fluidness and overall feel of it is just amazing.
-
Hell yeah dude. You're not alone.
-
I'm only allowed to play about 3 minutes at the beginning of a match before my green bar is painted red and it turns into a mess. But for those few glorious minutes it can go to the extreme either way.
-
Yeah but i blame myself for bad games.
-
I absolutely believe the damage nerf exists. 3 people positive and 3 neg in almost every game.
-
I'm pretty consistent... 2 Novabomb deaths 3 Golden Gun deaths 1 Fist of Havok death 1 Stormtrance death 1 Bladedance death 2 Hammer of Sol deaths 2 Shadowshot deaths 1 Heavy Ammo death Per game
-
I feel ya.
-
Yeah controls been killing me, some of it is rust, some of it is me playing too close to the tv. But mostly idk...
-
-
I'm with you 100% on this! I'm either hot or cold. I don't play enough pvp to get consistent.
-
My problem is the hit detection. Some games I can shoot in the head with a scout and its body shots for days. Other games I can shoot the tree next to the guy and its a head shot. With pulse some games its like only one bullet of the burst lands.
-
I can say im less consistent than when the game launched. I used to be about 0.5 k/d all the time
-
Some of it's due to the people you play in general, as stats and SBMM still can't give an accurate picture of what someone is capable of. Example, I have a terrible combat rating and my K/D is nothing to write home about, but I am ranked in the top 5% of my preferred game mode. So some people with lower stats will actually outperform them, and you might get matched against them. then there is the personal consistency. It's really hard to notice this unless you are recording and watching gameplay footage, but over the course of a play session you will deviate from your norms. You might start approaching choke points differently, or deciding when to challenge in better or worse situations. As time goes on, you start getting different thresholds for your actions, and you will act accordingly. We all get that to a degree. And lastly...take a break from time to time. I'm not one of those 'don't play the game all day' people, but your brain needs a chance to reset itself to it's neutral state periodically. If you play some good games, and you see yourself starting to decline a bit, it's time to take 5. Get a drink with some light, simple sugars and a small bite to eat (handful of pretzel sticks, etc.) and think about some plays you've made in various games. Take your time, eat and drink slowly, and just go back to even ground. then try again, and see the change. Once you see yourself outside of your normal patterns, you need to take a second to relax, analyze, and reset so you can know what's happening and avoid reinforcing bad habits. This is what works for me, hopefully it helps someone else as well.

This has been an issue for me ever since TTK dropped. Overall, I went from a 1.8ish kd to a 1.4 with no hope of reverting to former form :) . at this point, I jus say f**k it, and play for "fun". (Quitting for a month and a half helped)
-
I typically am around a 1.6 but I have games as low as 0.3 and as high as 10+
-
Me I like am constantly switching between 2-4 kd and 0.5 kd games all the time
-
Yoooooooo same here. I've done amazing and won against guys with super high elo 2200+ and then lost to guys with 1300 elo in Trials like wtf. And also the match is 4-1 and we're in the lead and we end up choking and lost 4-5.

Edited by TrulyDontCare: 8/9/2016 8:03:37 PMI'm definitely inconsistent. It's normal for me to get around 2.0 for a few matches, then get like .7 for a few immediately afterwards. I -blam!- around a lot in PvP, so my k/d ends up all over the place. Even when I'm being competitive I'm still inconsistent, though. I don't deny it.
