The want to limit the kind of kills you can get with the knife. Thats all. It was only a 10% reduction. There are still ways to use it, you just have to adjust your playstyle abit thats all.
I understand it wasnt necessary, but to achieve what they want with the throwing knife this had to happen.
I main a Sunbreaker btw.

They did the 10% reduction on base damage, but since they nerfed all burns too it does quite a bit less damage. The only way it was a OHKO was a precision hit on the lowest armor someone could run plus a full burn. So they said they nerfed it so it couldn't OHKO, which is fine, but why have the burn nerf too?
-
Theres a glitch with the burns I heard
-
Yea, that one makes it so things take less damage from outside sources. But the base damage was 7 and now is 4.
-
Yea i noticed it on all the burns, even on incindiary grenade and sunstrike Itll get fixed soon surely
-
Yes, but there was still no merit. The damage was nerfed, not the cooldown. I can still shoot you twice and throwing knife you. It makes NO sense and I agree with the OP. As a hunter main, I can tell you that OHKOs were exceedingly rare. Almost non-existent for me, and I ran the burning perk. It makes no since. ALSO, Limiting the kills with Knives, (melees), makes no since because you can still OHKO people with storm grip, shoulder charge, and Flame Punch (whatever the freaking warlock punch is called) and NONE of them were nerfed. And yes I'm salty, 83 Days in game as a hunter.

Storm Grip cannot one shot and neither can the Scorch melee unless in Radiance. But they do alot of damage. Throwing knoves deal lile 146 damage on headshot wirhout the burn, that leaves less than half health for the player getting hit. All the melee abilities deal similar damages. They dont want players to turn a corner, get shot once by a handcannon and get killed by a throwing knife bevause you cant really react to that. Granted, to be able to do this to someone takes skill, but perhaps this wasnt the way they envisioned throwing knives to be used. Same logic probably applies to the tripmine changes.

Edited by Guardian6233: 6/20/2016 5:23:07 PMI can tell you that in both situations you are wrong. In fact, this isn't even one of my clips and you can very clearly see the last person in this clip is one shot. https://www.facebook.com/TheLootChute/videos/1755988147977815/ You can even slow it down and look. As for warlock melees, I happen to have no media to support my claim, they have to be using the burn ability. However, any hunter main will be able to attest to what I'm saying. WE ARE THE WEAKEST CLASS STOP NERFING US. AND, how can you say that corner bit? There are shotguns, shoulder charges, scatter grenades, flux grenades, flame grenades, and all other manner of BS in this game that will one shot you at close range. In fact, I have an excellent clip of me pistol swapping 3 people in a row and that's similar to what you are complaining about.

The burn on warlock melees comes from touch of flame perk I main a Titan and I dont think ive ever one shotted someone with a melee Maybe a teamate shot him too i dunno I dont think ive ever been one shotted by storm grip either
-
I frame by frame checked. it was only from the melee. Happens to me and I do it to people all the time. Point is, its bullshit. and the knives had way to many variables that needed to be accounted for in order to one-shot. Nerf = stupid

I can accept that. I prefer mature responses and yours fits that bill.
