[b]Basically. In doing so it forced the recruits to either manifest their innate ability to access the Shadow dimension or fail. Not to mention it also tests their ability to survive on their own with little to no knowledge of Shadow fighting techniques. It's one of the first tests in order to find out the extent of their abilities.[/b]
