-Any Dragon Ball Z character stronger than Vegeta/Goku from the end of the Saiyan Saga (That ray gun/Planet explosion thing in Resurrection F was about the billionth time Toriyama forgot his own lore and shit.)
I base this on the Death Star being capable of destroying (let's say) an Earth Sized planet. Assuming it could go bigger, I'd say Fireza's first form is probably the bottom marker for surviving it tbh.

One could easily cite that as a reason they won't survive, but they've tanked stronger energy blasts from Cell and Buu, etc. I think the canonical reason Vegeta died was that he couldn't breathe in a vacuum, and they said Frieza would've survived it himself, despite being in a much weaker state. Keep in mind that the writer of Dragon Ball almost never bothers to reference his own rules with regards to who can survive what. One clip from Dragon Ball Z shows Goku stopping an energy blast with his chest, and then in the last movie he gets somehow caught out by a weak ray gun blast. IIRC the Super Saiyan God form was said to survive in space before they decided to go back on that one too.

Cell and Buu don't have very good feats to use for calcs. Plus Goku had his ki way down so he was at his normal durability when he got shot by the laser ring.

DBZ is kind of a dumb anime like that. There aren't any feats you could actually judge their strength by because they only went all out against each other and Toriyama kept getting his own power scaling wrong. Vegeta was a planet buster at a power level of 18,000, and then Frieza's first form was at 450,000 or something ridiculous. After a few strength increases by multiples throughout the series we get to the Buu saga where apparrently they only have enough strength to destroy the earth 10 times. For such a popular show it was extremely sloppily done. I thought it was because his guard was down. He was still Super Saiyan Blue. Either way, he shouldn't have even been fazed by it.

Edited by Edcub One: 3/21/2016 5:30:07 AMThe power of a character was basically whatever he felt like at that time. His normal abilities were increased when used his ki to enhance them, that's why going Super Saiyan boosted his power, it multiples his ki. Otherwise he is not that tough.

I've read the wikia enough to understand how their power works fam. What I'm saying is, regardless, he shouldn't have fallen to the ray gun. He either should've been quick enough to block/dodge it even in a powered down state, or strong enough to just take it without blinking. Even at rest, Super Saiyan Blue should've been giving him a power multiplier of well over 400x. It's just one of the many loopholes present throughout Dragon Ball Z and is inconsequential.

But at rest he is not using his power to enhance his durability. But yes it is irrelevant to the discussion.
