Looking back now, yeah, but the timeline still acknowlgdes Kane' presence in the 1950s.

I know and there was never meant to be any definitive proof. Only the implication and the "could be." However, there is no doubt that the character development of Kane was inspired by the biblical Cain. The actor who portrays him had a hand in the development process and admits this in interviews. .
