I hate to go against what is obviously [i]morally[/i] correct, but human beings are only as complex as they let themselves be. So one the one hand, we have autism as an insult. What about every single other extremely insensitive joke used by people like this? Hitler jokes are [i]still[/i] "top of the line", and it's been roughly 70 years. Gay jokes, women jokes, fat jokes, religion jokes.. to be blunt, your daughter (as you insist) is not special. My sister has full blown sickle cell disease and can barely get by a day in school without some ass making fun of her because she can't run track or stay outside too long in the cold Wisconsin weather. Everyone has a story, and we all run into lesser minded people. Their rudeness may know no bounds, but it lacks imagination. If they rely on actual problems to make fun of people, I'm sure karma will give them a surprise after 9 months of waiting!
