Did you read any of the Halo novels?
If you have...then you are being annoyingly selective in your memory.
If you haven't...then this conversation is pointless. Because you are arguing about a universe that you really don't understand.
Humans are the RECLAIMERS. Heirs to a techonological legacy that is probably ONE MILLION years more advanced than we are right now. Ever since Humans discovered the ruins of the Forerunner civilization, the UNSC has been reverse-engineering Forerunner technology and incorporating in into their own weapons.
By the time of the events of Halo 4, and the reawakening of the Ur-Didact, that process was WELL under way. By the events of Halo 5 those events were SO far underway, that a UNSC task force was able to beat back an assault on Earth launched by the AI that controlled The Ark.
...and the UNSC was able to design, build and COMMISSION a vessel based on Forerunner tech. (UNSC Infinity)
But even still, we are taking on the DREGS of what was once the Forerunner military. A handful of AIs, and one of their military leaders driven insane by a 100,000 of hibernation/forced meditation.
You are missing the point here. NOTHING that the Forerunners did...or have done....is impossible. All of it IS possible---that is nothing defies our current understanding of physics----we just don't have the technology right now to replicate it.
Guardians do things every day in the Destiny Universe that DEFY PHYSICS. IOW, ARE IMPOSSIBLE NO MATTER HOW MUCH TECHNOLOGY YOU THROW AT THE PROBLEM.
