To everyone siding with destiny let me tell you this. The flood would infect a planet completely withen minutes. And used star roads to smash stars from across the galaxy. So the flood could easily destroy the sun and wipe out the guardians. The Vex have organic cores so the flood could take them over, with that or the logic plauge. The Cabal destroy moons for getting in the way...well the flood destroy solar systems that get in their way. Now you might say that oryx can just take the flood which is true but they can't take machines and the forerunners have trillions of onyx sentinels they can build up. Now the halo universe can't kill oryx because they are not of light. But they can contain him.

The Flood take hours to take over a world. They can't be taken as long as they have their hive mind, which makes their will far too strong.
-
They can take hours at lower stages but in halo CE a small flood outbreak led to the ring being taken over withen hours and a halo ring is considerably smaller than a planet and that was the lowest flood stage. In the forerunner flood war the forerunners had millions of planets but after the fall.of mendichant bias the flood took over the forerunners withen decades.
