Got Devouring Maw first try.
I have been wanting to get all the strike specific awards. SO far, I had acquired the darkblade helm and the baron's ambition. However, there was one that I was highly anticipating. I had been making excuses to avoid the grind, however, because FALLEN S.A.B.E.R. is my least favorite new strike. Today, I finally decided to do it. I get spawned in to a strike with 2 315s who are already halfway through killing the boss. It only takes a few more shots to kill him. Suddenly, a purple engram tumbles onto the metal floor. I pick it up. In purple text is see the words DEVOURING MAW. I immediately celebrate. A helmet i have been dying-to get comes to be with little effort or grind.
I'm curious, has anyone had a similar experience. Please let me know.

In the end it's just total RNG. The amount of time I put into this game (strikes specifically) and have yet to get a Devouring Maw or Imago Loop (I've grinded for both) is just ridiculous. Even when they've been the nightfall. There are certain exclusive items that drop for me like candy (Fallen Auto/Machine Gun and Taniks Cloak) so it just comes down to RNG.
