I thought it was only ocean/salt water that weakened you?
Fresh water or rain doesn't/shouldn't

Its not really mentioned. Most of the time you see them drink Booz or milk. Inferring that water weakens them. I'm not really sure about the water concept because it's a plot hole that is often broken in the series. Ie Luddy drinking water when his water inside him was drained by crocodile.
