But in this case we need to use 343 canon because the Covenant and UNSC can't beat the Vex, Hive, Cabal, and Fallen at once. In order to do that we need the Forerunners/Flood/0 Precursors.

Also - Forerunners/Flood is in Bungie Canon, except it isn't nonsense.
