Can't cut off DLC from a game they already bought. For D2, sure, but not for DLC
Edit: I should've said they "shouldn't" instead of "can't".

If its a payed dlc they very well could, blizzard done the same with diablo 3, and that was just an update they brought out for current but not last and it was the best they could actually do for the game

Ever played GTA V? Their game, they can do what they want with it.

They can most certainly cut off DLC if they wish to do so. Just look at GTA 5.
