So I read the weekly update last night and I'm pretty sure this could be one of the best updates I've seen in a good long while. This past weekend my fireteam was playing trials and talk specifically about this issue, how primaries aren't primaries. Shotguns and Snipers are some peoples main weapon, and it limits your use of them and all that. Lo and behold, this comes out now. They must have been ease dropping on your games or something..
Anywho, here is my only gripe that I'd like Bungie to address. I love that we won't spawn with special and think the game will be better for this change. However we all know that Icebreaker and Invective do generate ammo over time. Due to this change people are simply going to fly in with one of those two, stall the first round if they can, and get ammo when it's available on their side. Win or lose the round they will switch weapons and we are back to normal Trials as we know it today.
Bungie stated on their own they want to limit you from being sniped out of the gate, but Icebreaker recharges fast enough to do that in most maps. If a team is going to rush they can probably have ammo by the time they reach you as well, so these to weapons are issues for what they stated they wan't to prevent or strongly limit in 3v3 playlists. So what are they planning to do with this? Nothing? Something? I'd just be curious to know. Let's say they do nothing, well then every smart player will be flying in to the Trials map with an icebreaker or invective. Prolong the round, and then switch for round 2 and up. We've played for awhile, it will happen. So why put us through doing all of this for the sake of ammo? That's annoying and personally I'm too lazy to do it, but if I'm going to get shotgunned by Invective as a result, I may need to reconsider.
So what do you guys think? Maybe I'm missing something that Bungie said, or maybe I'm not factoring in something. I'm not saying I'm 100% right on this "future of Trials" theory, but sure seems very likely. What are your thoughts? Big deal or won't really matter much? Thanks for the read Guardians.
