The players.
The players are the problem. People use what their comfortable with, get good with that specific setup, then never change it. I for one am a Scout rifle player. So when I got the "Jolly Holiday" quest and get kills with Last Word, I had to re-adjust being a long range player to close quarters. It was a big bump in the road, but I'm still slowly getting over it.
After 4 weeks now, I have YET to get past 60% on this quest. Why? *refer to above answer*
These idiots don't know how to adjust their playstyle. Everyone I've come face to face with have a SHOTGUN that STILL overpowers the Last Word in EVERY situation. The range is so low on TLW, you have to get within instant death range of a shotgun to land any hits. I don't use shotguns, I'm not a noob. The shotguns NEED THAT DÄMN NERF THAT NEVER HAPPENED IN UPDATE 2.1. You were supposed to get "damaged" slightly at BLINK STRIKE RANGE. I got shot and killed at the Warlock's Thunderstrike range.
Talk about bullshìt. The quest wouldn't be so difficult if the gun had poor stability and range OR if the shotguns were ACTUALLY nerfed.
What do you think? Are the players the real problem of Crucible? Or the fact that no one knows that there are hundreds of play styles, but only play the same as every other player in this game? Comment below what you think. Bump if you agree on any of this trash.

The players play a big part by only using "OP" guns, then coming on the forum and bitching trying to get the guns nerfed. And this goes on and on forever until destiny has slowly and painfully fully died. But the real problem is that bungie has no -blam!-ing clue how to balance a game worth two shits. What they need to do to fix this is completely overhaul the current system for pvp. They need to pick a time to kill and then balance everything to have that time to kill at its ideal range. If you're too close for the ideal range (think scouts) then it should be difficult to land shots. If you're outside the ideal range for your gun, you do less damage. If this sounds familiar it's because this is how it's supposed to work. But bungie can't balance a game for shit. The perfect example is that people can bum rush with MIDA or basically snipe you with last word currently. If they could pull their head out of their ass and balance around that, people would have to pick a weapon type that fits how they want to play the game or change how they play. Everything would have its ideal situation and everything would be able to be countered. That guy sitting at the back of the map with a scout? Flank him to help close the gap. That guy bum rushing with autos? Stay out of choke spaces and pick him off before he can get close. This would also make weapon choice within weapon types vary more. Impact and fire rate are generally related and would push weapons into either spray and prey or careful aiming playstyles. Stability would slightly change a weapons ideal range by making shots easier or harder to land. So every gun is slightly different and would suit a slightly different playstyle. The only real "argument" is that "well such and such is exotic so it should be better" which is true in a way. But the gun should still have the same time to kill as everything else and the exotic perk should push it into a more unique role. Think last word vs first curse. They're both exotic, so why would their time to kill be different? Because right now it is. They each have their ideal range and the exotic perks make them different but they shouldn't have different time to kills when used at ideal range. Honestly, this shit is so simple I don't know how bungie let it get this -blam!-ed up. And no, I'm not saying nerf this or buff that, though some slight nerfs and buffs would have to happen to actually bring balance to this game. *sighs* but this probably won't have a chance at happening until at least destiny two, and the way things are going I don't even think then because you know, this is a new bungie game. The reputation they built with halo is now gone, tarnished, and shit on. Welcome to the new bungie, where we give you shitty events designed to make you spend real money to collect bullshit cosmetics, cut content and overstate how much is actually in the game/dlc, don't test our products and don't know how to balance anything worth a shit. Rant over. ¯\_( ˘͡ ˘̯)_/¯ To anyone who made it this far, thank you. You get shotguned less in 3v3 rather than 6v6 anyone looking to improve there game should know this. And people who call shotgunners 'noobs' are dumb because all those people using shotguns are just going with the meta which in 6v6 at the moment is still shotguns. By you're logic people who use last word, mida and doctrine of passing are also noobs. I know that quest is hard but you just gotta get used to it bud, the chaperone isn't that spectacular anyway I barely pick it up.

You are trying to complete the Jolly Holiday quest the wrong way. Equip TLW near the end of a winning match and collect 3% or 4% every time. You don't even have to shoot TLW.
-
You call your opponents idiots because they don't know how to adjust their playstyle, yet here you are 4 weeks later, not yet 60% through your quest, still adjusting.

Oh wow another crucible/Shotgun/last word post, how original. You do know there is a very Large group in this gane that just, you know, goes with the flow? We adapt to new playstyles, new maps, new meta's, new strategys etc. We dont cry for nerfs, we dont go complaining on the forums whenever we have a bad game. Maybe its time these people let themselves be heard instead of the crybaby 1% nerfnoobs

No, it's just that you're not good. I primarily play with Scouts and Shotguns. I finished TLW part in about an hour in Mayhem Clash (solo). WAY easier that way. Point is, put any weapon in a good players "hands" and they'll still do good. Switch a Crutchy McCrutchersons weapons up and they'll go down the drain.

The players are definitely the problem but if you think the last word has no range right now..... ha. Hahahaha.

SBMM that simple

you're not using tlw right if you're losing to shotguns with it....

it's literally in the game to prevent shotguns from reaching you lmao
