...and I was the ONLY person on my team going for B. I finished the game with:
-a 2.2 kd
-one 10-kill streak
-one 5-kill streak
-SIX captures
And we STILL lost (just barely).
Guess how many captures my teammates had? All of them except one guy only had ONE! The flag we spawn at!
Bungie, you can't force people to play the objective, but here's what you can do:
-Increase the amount of points gained from capturing an objective.
-Increase the amount of points gained from getting kills while you control zones.
Make a DRASTIC increase to the amount of points you get when you have 2 flags, versus just 1. Maybe then people will actually play CONTROL instead of Clash.
Sincerely,
A crippled Guardian (The carry is real.)
Edit: As several people have pointed out, many players don't care about the objective because there is no incentive to win. Since rewards are completely random, winning doesn't matter. First place means nothing, so many people feel like there is no reason to try.

I don't understand why my other teammates capture a and c. It doesn't take 6,5,4, or even 3 guardians to capture a or c, wherever you start. Seriously, sprinting to B all on my lonesome and then watching people go to camping spots instead of going straight to B is very aggravating. But just laugh that off man, scrubs are gonna be scrubs

I never capture zones f that all I care about is my k/d
-
Its funny you posted this . My friends and I had the same complaint during iron banner . Guys were running past the zones and going for nothing but kills . Kills and K/D is great and awesome but sometimes the win is fun too . Unfortunately we just keep going forward and hope that one day Bungie will actually listen to the right people . Good luck .

I agree with the edit. One of the major reasons I don't like Destiny PvP isn't the lag, the same weapon, the OHK's... none of that matters. It's just that it's all so... pointless. Run around, shoot, kill, die, respawn. That's not much of a carrot for me. It works for some guys, and that's okay, but I can't get into it. I guess I also hate the hyper-aggressive disrespectful types that make a large part of the population, but that's the same in PvP everywhere. It's the nature of the beast. Put some cool drops in there, or real progression... now you're talking. Make it worth learning. Give it a real goal. I could tolerate Iron Banner because of this. Tiered rewards at least gave me a reason to keep playing. Regular Crucible is just mind-numbing.

Edited by PRINCE_ALI_1985: 1/12/2016 2:35:31 PMIt's because ppl are boosting there K/D so they can find a team for ToO. -Winning means nothing -Control an objective means nothing -It's easier to snipe/pick ppl in B zone if you are camping correctly Positive K/D mean a greater chance to get into a team in LFG. Assist, revive, control, wins dose not count in ppl minds. Also a lot of ppl are practicing sniping because it's an important skill to have in ToO.

Play with friends. Inv?

Your edit says it all. No motivation to capture zones and just as little motivation to win. I love being in the process of capturing a zone with a teammate to be engaged by an enemy to realize my mate left as soon as red appeared on his radar in fear of hurting his k/d.

The struggle is real
-
this is the main reason since the IB I havent played sniperble. get in a game charge b solo. get killed as no one pushes with me. spawn back in run and stop in horror at 5, yes 5 people all aiming one path with snipers drawn. I laughed and left as there wasnt any point. They have ruined cruible flow with the shotgun nerfs. now people wont push flags and just wanna sit back and practice sniping. crucible was the only thing keeping me playing after my raid team left and then the last nerf has shut that down too. game is dying fast for me.

That is what you get when the rewards are random and don't reflect playing well

Its ok i play clash games with a 4k and up score and still lose the match when playing alone. Same concept, if your stats are good you will be put on a team that is not so good aka sucks donkey to "even it out". All it really does is make it so the good player on the team needs to work harder than necessary... ugh what a drag.

according to these forums, other guardians only care about KD
-
I think there are too many ransoms in control that think "oh I'll just get kills, my team mates will do the capturing". That's why I think the point bonus for zones held should only apply to team mates that actively helped secure the zone. That'll add a little incentive at least.
-
The mentality of the majority of the PvP community just goes around and kills rather than play the objective and try to win because there isn't any point in trying to win. The rewards are totally random, the maps are all the same design except with different paint jobs, no incentive to show off your skill when you don't get proper rewards in the end for it, and thanks to Activision most are used to playing Team Deathmatch which in Destiny's case is Clash.

The carry is real and your ideal is brilliant.
-
Don't we already get more points per kill depending on how many zones the team controls? or you mean more points than the ones we get now? ( i really don't remember if we get more points or not)
-
If they increased the points for captures just because you're the only one who knows how to play control in a match, it would make it unbalanced for the people who do know how to play control.

Most randoms suck and other randoms that are decent worry about their kd more than winning.

They are too busy building lag into the system and getting ass fcuked by lag switchers to bother with anything us fans want or need in PvP,!!
-
Maybe it is an idea to get 'punished' on dying, when you haven't got any capture points? Just a few seconds, the more time you have without captures, the more time it will take for a guardian to be able to respawn?

Edited by EVIL VENOM: 1/11/2016 3:24:48 PMControl is my favorite PVP mode. The crazy thing that has me wondering is why all the teammates go for the first zone instead of B? I recently got my daughter to play and without me saying anything she asked me "Dad why does everyone go for the for A instead of B? That's why we are losing" told her, child I do not know

I played 5 rifts in a row. Won all 5 since the other team was 3+ snipers and camped.
