On one of my many adventures, I ran into the Vault of Glass seeking cover from the oncoming Vex and Fallen.
I used an old entrance shown to me by Pahanin, before he, Praedyth, and Kabr went missing.
It's strange, those in the Tower and on other planets seem to have forgotten them, but those who remain on Venus, or have explored the Vault remember them, if only a little.
Strange...yes, rather strange, perhaps exposure Vex Time Distortion?
Anyways, as I was saying, I had taken shelter in the Vault. I remembered that the first portion had been cleared out by Kabr's Fireteam, so I was relatively safe.
As the front entrance was a mass of Fallen flesh versus the cold machinery of the Vex, I decided it was in my best entrance to explore for another exit.
My Ghost attempted to dissuade me from exploring, advising me to wait until the fight was over, and then take out the remaining forces to secure an exit zone.
However, I could feel a hum in the air, and heard the sound of burning air and electricity.
I, of course, went to investigate, lightly pushing Vrael out of the way.
I entered a small chamber that was not on any maps of Vault Explorers, and within the room was a Vex Timegate.
I crouched with my gun at the ready, waiting for Vex to appear, yet they did not.
After a few minutes, I left and explored, not finding any exits, and returned to the chamber. Vrael, having been my companion for decades, ever since I was a young Gaurdian, stopped in front of me, telling me the risks, the dangers, and the stupidity of what I was about to do.
But I did it.
I walked into the portal, casting myself into web of space-time woven by the Vex.
What I saw as I passed through the portal is beyond description.
I do not think that we are ready for such things yet, as we can scarcely grasp the nature of the very power we hold over the Light.
However, when my trip ended, I awoke in a room, spherical in shape, composed entirely of minute mirrors, so small as to be mistaken for bits of glitter.
As best as I could tell, the room was twenty stories high and wide.
However, when I looked at a mirror with purpose, it magnified in my visor, showing a War between the Vex and Hive on a planet orbiting a black hole.
Others showed such images as a universe completely obliterated, or one in which everything was composed.
And yet still, others showed images from the past that I could recognize, and people I know looking older than they were now.
I will not try to claim that I know with any certainty what I was seeing, but I think that it was our universe, with all of the different time lines.
Strangely, the sphere was constantly growing and expanding.
As I looked through more of the "timelines" I began to see more visions of us, of Humans, Exo's, and Awoken.
In some we were heroes, explorers and rulers, while in others, we were scavengers, Warriors, and even acolytes of the Darkness.
As I was looking at these, I noticed something.
I could see between the cracks of the mirrors, if I focused, and out in the void surrounding me, I could see other spheres, moving within the vast void, or rather, the impressions of spheres on the void.
As I began to look more closely the air suddenly began to crackle with electricity, when a Timegate opened...without a platform.
Then an Exo stepped through and asked me to follow her quickly.
Of course I did, and found myself looking at Vrael, back in the Vault.
