Lol...
Don't even get me started bro...
You think I don't realize that this is Bungie.net?
You do realize you are talking to someone who has played Halo since he was 2 1/2 years old?
I've played it so much that when I built my own PC back when I was 8 I downloaded Halo Custom Edition and added so many things that it kept going into Execute mode (a mode that activates on Halo Custom Edition when too much content is added)
Then when I was done with that I downloaded Halo 2 along with the map editor and used Gurrilla to pull out the map content and create my own CTF map using certain pieces of different maps such as High Charity, Regret, and even parts of Hang Em High from CE
Although it was a pain in the ass having to deal with Gurrilla being unstable all the time due to constant errors in the .ogg file
I personally never liked the fact that Bungie almost crippled the map editing community when content was being ripped from ODST but who could blame them :/
As for Marathon
Played it
Hated it
I know your probably freaking out going "BLASPHEMY!!!"
I can explain
Marathon never interested me considering it was very experimental
I felt that my roots began with Halo:CE and my love for the Halo franchise grew and when I played Marathon it always felt so different
The only thing that made me feel at home was the Siege of the Madrigal
And that was pretty much it :/
I never felt "at home" with marathon
(I'm ready to be crucified now)
The same goes with destiny
I do not feel "at home" with destiny because Bungie has changed so much from their normal due to everyone quitting and sadly enough I gave up on Bungie when they fired Marty because Marty's music was my childhood and how dare the kill the one thing that made Halo, Halo
But... I digress
Because I have hopes Bungie will realize they do no not need to whore themselves out to Activision just to make up for lost dollars
They woke up from microsoft they most definantly can see what Activision is really about with their call of duty micro transaction DLC bullshit...

Nah, I don't say Blasphemy. Everyone has their own opinion on games. I did enjoy marathon personally, but I understand why some wouldn't. As for Destiny, I feel that Activision has completely screwed Bungie over. Them wanting to charge for everything forced bungie to break up thrir game into bits and sell it before they were even complete. And don't even get me started on microtransactions. Halo was well made though. A true testament of what Bungie is capable of.

*raises glass* Here here! Look let's put the furry stuff aside for now and focus on Bungie, Yes Bungie is making some pretty bad mistakes right now but honestly What company hasn't? I think they will probably go back to their normal roots in the next 3-4 years or so It's sad too because Bungie has been beaten by marketing even though they are doing amazing things Microsoft Activision Ubisoft (let's not go there) Screwed Bungie for profit Hell, originally Halo was supposed to be for the Mac and Playstation 2 but Microsoft said "NOPE" and bought them out at the last second and made it a Xbox exclusive Bungie has so much potential It's just... It's being destroyed by marketing

Publishers, console makers, really anyone that thinks they can make a quick buck off a studio with a good idea will do all they can suck every dollar out of the game, not caring about the result to the gaming audience they're trying to sell it to. And it's only gotten worse as time goes on because publishers have figured little tricks like microtransactions to make even more money. The worst part is, now you need a huge budget to make an AAA rated game, so studios have to pray that these huge publishers like EA or Activision will invest in their ideas. The state of the market is really sad truly. Hopefully Bungie will be smart, and once they're done with this contract with Activision, they can work with some smaller, less money centric publishers or maybe do what Bethesda or CD Projekt does and self publish.

Hopefully, But I can't see Bungie doing what Bethesda is doing now :/ Bethesda had a lot of time to grow their investments and create a high budget for themselves I'm not saying Bungie "can't" do it but it will take a lot of time and healing Bethesda had a plan that no other game developers had at the time To make games that were completely open world and allowing the use of mods and low priced DL I own the GOTY Edition of Fallout 3 and I also own New Vegas and I honestly have to admit the DLC for both are the lowest I have seen in all my time of gaming And Bethesda doesn't squander their DLC either They make sure it's filled to the brim with content and stuff to keep you occupied for days That's how they sold the DLC Not because of price But because of content That's why I feel if Bungie does break away from Activision in will take a long time to heal because we all know Activision will take 95% of the profit from Destiny and throw Bungie away like a used condom (not a good example but bear with me here) And Bungie will have to pull themselves up again and either find a method of making high quality content that could earn a ton of money Or whore themselves out to another company who will probably screw them over (I really don't want to see this happen to Bungie again it hurts me to see the company I grew up with whore themselves out like this... It's heartbreaking)

Edited by xi_GoinHam: 1/2/2016 5:15:19 AMThat's pretty true, but Bungies contract with Activision still leaves them as being decent budget wise. What they will need is really high quality content to pull themself out of this, but with the losses to their original staff, this won't be an easy task, and it seems that they don't have an interest in working for themselves, more that they would prefer to work with a huge publisher to make the next cash cow. It really is sad because I've had alot of faith in Bungie until the $40 expansion for Destiny dropped. Who knows though, these are the people that made Halo, maybe they'll just shock us again.
Anyway, I gotta go. It's getting late and I have work tomorrow. Nice chatting with you though.
Nice chatting with you as well :) I hope the best and hopefully one day we can see Bungie become the company they deserve
