So I'll start by saying I have a strong bias for thorn. I loved it prebuff in year one and it was undeniably amazing the second half of year 1.
It was op and needed a nerf and now it is viable again which I am happy about. I vehemently disagree with planet destiny and their hate of it and year one weapons. Thorn shouldn't just disappear.
I never used it as a two tap and run weapon I used it as a rush weapon. You weren't going to burn out from me I went for the third tap to the dome. Was faster and took advantage of the gun controlling engagements.
Which leads me to my main point. Jon and she say it sits at a 1.0 kd. It is no longer OP it is just hated due to it effect and past meta history.
MANY will disagree as I've seen this reasoning everywhere. Thorn forces a change of engagement specifically slowing it (from the bias view of a tap and run player) or forcing a retreat. I like this! This is a strategy I loved and why I also like explosive rounds. Similar principle it staggers and blows up your face enough it forces a retreat I can then push behind.
@sage and Jon
Stick to your claims on the podcast. I don't want to see thorn and the change up it gives disappear to just the classic playlists. Keep it a year one trophy if it's such a problem with the top players but don't take away my options to actually have fun with it in whatever crucible mode I want.
Now your thoughts everyone? Reasoning please and why. I love the weapon but I was all for its nerf in year one so don't assume I'm that bias. I just don't want to see a beloved gun of mine that creates a novel exchange in pvp (stopping the momentum of a gunfight for movement and follow up) to disappear. For example it's a 3 shot body shot. I'm flexible there. Should probably be at least one headshot for a three shot kill.

Bungie has the #'s on every weapon so they know if it's Kd is 1 or 1.5 or 2 The stats are the stats
