This is why: Crutches aren't real because everyone has the same level of accessibility. Every subclass is available to everyone. Every weapon is available to everyone. Now, I understand someone who say, wants to use The Last Word, but doesn't have it. That's unfortunate, but that doesn't mean that it's op. Same with the MIDA. In the end, everyone has equal chances for the weapons. This happens with Snipers and MIDA, they get killed by it a lot, and say: "-blam!- that gun" and go on the forums and complain. Except, I'm sure they will get happy in the same pants they got mad in when they use the MIDA or a sniper effectively. What I'm saying is, people need to quit complaining about strong weapons, and just embrace the fact that certain weapons are stronger. When they get those weapons, then it's an even playing field. Then, it comes down to skill. Those of you who lose in those situations and go to bitch? Then you lack skill. And you should except the fact that you just aren't as good, and maybe you'll get better with time.

You're wrong. Crutches aren't in PvP because crutches wouldn't make effective weapons...

Edited by Swiftlock: 12/24/2015 7:33:29 PMGoing off your post, you don't even recognize what a crutch truly is. Allow me to drop some knowledge on your ass. A crutch is something that makes up for a player's lack of skill, such as when bad players could still get super high scores with pre-nerf Hammer of Sol or the pre-nerf Hopscotch Pilgrim because of how ridiculously effective they were. When a weapon is strong in the hands of a good player, but bad in the hands of a bad player, that's balance. When a weapon is strong even in the hands of a bad player, that's what calls for a nerf. Crutches exist, people just haven't learned the proper definition and throw words around.

No one likes this meta, it's more sweaty than the Thorn meta and the matchmaking just made it worse
-
Year one crucible is too gud I want it back
-
This game will never be balanced. All of these weapons arch types will have their time over and over again.
-
Your basically saying we need to all use the exact same load outs, wow I didn't think this was CoD
-
Still sitting here wondering why I'm getting killed by MIDA AFTER I barely get around a corner
-
Congrats on creating the only post that has not recieved a hate filled response.

Edited by ZvSpid: 12/24/2015 3:32:22 PMif all those pros think they are good coz they abused shotgun blink + thorn then think again. A lot of "pros" ppl call them got their kd and fame by that and would suck with anything other than those guns. current meta is not so bad as they are not crutches. only pussy combo for me is BD, TLW and sniper. other than that its not that bad and counterable
-
You're basically saying everyone should use the same exact loadout because it is optimal. If you are only good with one loadout, that is a crutch by definition. People want variety.
-
Ok maybe you're right but I'd rather not have 3/4 of my Arsenal not being able to be competitive.
-
What you say sounds good, but is logically flawed. Just because a weapon is available to everyone, doesn't mean it isn't overpowered. There should be no obvious choice for which weapon to use regardless of the situation. I agree, when two people use the same weapon, the outcome of their battle is mostly determined by skill-although some of it can come down to luck. But when one person is using The Last Word and the other is using Revelator, TLW user has an advantage hands down. Disclaimer: I think weapons are more balanced now than they have ever been, but to suppose that no weapon is ever overpowered is somewhat shortsighted.

Embrace the meta. It will change eventually. Every game has a meta.
Agree with you.
Good post and I agree with a lot of what you said. Only thing I don't totally agree with is the part about OP weapons. While I don't think any weapons currently are OP and I think this meta shows promise, it can be useful as a community to have conversations about weapons that break the meta and not merely accept them as being OP. The best example of this would be the OG vex. A conversation was needed and was had about the dps and accuracy of the gun combined with it being difficult to obtain at the time. These conversations eventually led to the vex being nerfed/balanced. It's important to distinguish the complaining threads from the constructive threads, which is something that not everyone does.

False. Crutches aren't real in PvP because, as a guardian, you don't break your legs. Therefore they are not needed.
i agree with your post
Preach it bro^_^

Good post. I rate it 5/7.

If destiny was more like halo then you'd be wrong. But because its designed differently you are correct.

Edited by Hulkksmash: 12/24/2015 2:26:49 AMDing ding we have a winner! Ive said same thing so many -blam!-ing times. A crutch would imply no one has access to it and it allows you to play at a level unobtainable without it. If everyones using -blam!-ing mida your not getting an upper hand on anyone.
-
Crutches don't exist, I'm living proof that a weapon doesn't make you good. I guarantee that I can suck at PvP no matter what weapon /class/subclass I use.
-
No it's because it's not an item you can equip
-
You what's sad? My friend calls playing on 1 sensitivity a crutch.
heres why crutches aren't real in destiny no one can break any bones in destiny
Fixed

Because a Crutch is a stick and a Gun is better than a stick. Come on guys, keep you spinmetal hats on please.
