It is much easier to insert a code that says x must be owned in order to equip y.
Then it is to find an error in a code, adjust code, or make changes to a gun, then test how it performs, then see if the code change created any new bugs.
Not only is it an easy fix to make the hot patch they did, it was for an item that is only going to be around for 3 weeks, and it was to not blam over those that paid for it.
Why are people also ignoring they fixed some other bugs in the hot patch like the leg engram issue as well?
