Bungie are shooting themselves in the foot because I for one lost the motivation to collect everything and grind for higher light level. What's the point of becoming this all powerful guardian just for your progress to be wiped.
It doesn't bother me now tho, If anything they done me a favour because now I just play for fun (I'd forgotten what that was like lol) instead of being like working a 2nd job.

Yup. After all my year 1 gear became obsolete I stopped grinding this game. I played TTK story and beat the raid I think 4 times. I hit 302 light where I think I will stay until the next light level bump lol. Now I just play some pvp for fun. No more trying for max light for me.
