What needs more skill in PVP!? Sniper or Shotgun?
Just curious to see what majority of the forum users believe takes more skill. I am not talking about any other game, so please don't compare to anything else (BO3, Halo, etc)
Feel free to express your opinion why sniping/shotgun take more skill.
Happy trials folks!
**Btw if yall could bump or like the post so more people get to see it* would be greatly appreciated!**
snipers all day
Edit: Thanks for everyone's input! As many have said it really takes no skill for either weapon if your are just camping a lane/door**

Fusion rifles obviously, lul

Removing aim assist fixed CoD sniping. Destiny needs to follow suit. Minimal aim assist on primaries and machine guns is fine, every shooter has it. But snipers definitely don't need it. Snipers are a precision weapon that should award a skilled user with a one shot kill.

Edited by AOSUOMI: 11/28/2015 8:52:05 PMDepends on how you use it. Hard scoping requires the minimal amount of skill. Actively searching a new good surprise attack spot is what I hope to see on the other side of the flare.

Shotguns are easy to learn pretty hard to master Snipers are not easy to learn and hard to master

Edited by dustydog1234: 11/28/2015 7:54:21 PMLook at these 2 triples I hit this morning and tell me which took more skill to accomplish. For those who said shotguns take more skill: Do snipers have a large burst cone that one-shot body-shots? Do snipers have a large circle that tells you exactly where you are aiming? Do snipers repeatedly get nerfed every monthly update? Do snipers easily and reliably kill at close range EVERY TIME? If you said no to all of these, and you chose shotguns to have more skill, then you are arguing with yourself. If you said yes to all these questions and you chose shotguns, then you should probably go down to GameStop or something and ACTUALLY PLAY DESTINY

Fusion rifles. Period

Snipers do take more skill than a shotgun, it becomes painfully obvious when watching a newer player try to use a sniper. And it only makes sense, snipers require smaller, precise adjustments to your right thumbstick and timing in order to be effective. Shotguns require far less precise controller adjustments and are most effective by players with good spacial awareness/map knowledge. The argument of shotgunners having more skill because they need to be in close proximity to get a kill doesn't hold up in destiny. Most maps are small and it's extremely easy to close the gap in destiny.

Here's how I see it Shotguns take less skill than sniping does. Why? It's obvious to everyone including shotgun users that they are very strong currently that's not saying it takes no skill (although not much) to use a shotgun. People with shotguns can be very skilled in terms of how effectively they take advantage of movement and range. With snipers your already at a disadvantage with most people running pulse/shotty and killing so quickly where you need to have good aim good awareness without third eye be mindful of range a lot of variables come to sniping which makes it tougher and therefore harder to be successful with taking more skill.

Snipers need skill but it's really cowardly. Shotguns need skill because you need to get close. I think it's fair. It counters each weapon. People just hate getting killed. Do they cry about each weapon.
-
With the shotgun, you just get close and <bam>. Usually if you can predict when someone is going to come around a corner, so much the better. I have trouble tracking well with the sniper rifle, so I'm going to say that takes more skill.

I was one of the best quake 2 players in the world and I'll tell you right here that you can't just say "skill". Type Rocket Arena in google if you want to see me. You have players in quake who are railers like me, which is similar to sniping, mostly revolving around twitch play and good map awareness. You have chainers which would be similar to AR or LMG which revolves around maintaining a steady hand on your mouse and extreme map awareness since you are engaging close and must deal with splash and spam. You have rocket users who rocket jump off of walls to move in aggressively and flank which revolves around twitch gameplay and extreme map awareness. This I would say is similar to shotgun users. What it comes down to is if you are valuing thumb skill over map awareness and strategy. I voted for results cause frankly I didn't care how my teammates played in clan matches, I cared about winning. But destiny I would want to have the best shotgunner, best sniper, best primary, best aggressor, best at leading a team, etc etc.

They both are skilled weapons, but rely on different skills. Unskilled players though can be too effective with shotguns, which is partially why they are being nerfed.

This post has no revelance since it's purely opinion and not actual facts.

Which weapon is easier to get a headshot with though? I think sniper honestly lol
-
WHO CARES! Play the game and have fun.

Snipers 62%??? In destiny there is simply no skill. Any "good sniper" in destiny has aim assist and shotguns can speak for themselves-point and shoot
-
Poll reveals majority of snipers are camping 12 year olds.
-
while snipers hardscoping and shotguners rush me i'll be here melting you guys

-
Lol da results.
-
No skill needed in destiny should be 100%
-
If anything, snipers. Comparatively of course, because head shots matter with snipers shotguns not so much.

Primaries?
