You're literally paying real life money for your character to do a 2-10 second action. You cannot justify this. You can make excuses and I'll post your excuses for being a child using their parents credit card below. When you pay for emotes you are showing AAA companies that they can take stuff out of their game that better games give for FREE and sell it. I understand the type of audience who buys silver....and that audience is classified as the casual gamer. Not real gamers.
I love how I make a spelling mistake because I'm human and since you guys have no real valid arguments to make you choose 1 grammatical error. Only proves my point that you don't know how to spend money wisely.
Excuse #1: It's my money.
Excuse #2: I make (put exaggerated amount of money made per year here) and I can afford it.
Excuse #3: Don't worry about my money! (They know they're wrong and are trying SO HARD to justify something that just isn't justifiable).
Almost 50 replies and only 3 poor excuses have been made. Proving my point again....
I think you guys have tired yourself out. I just had to sit through the snot nosed kids coming in trying to justify purchases for EMOTES...I legit think I have cancer now. Thanks Density.
To the kids who think that I'm poor...I make well over 250k a year. Money aint nutin. Because I know you guys still can't come up with any good logical reasons as to why you pay for emotes other than you like Bungie screwing you over. Still waiting on that person but I'm starting to lose hope that there will be someone who can explain it logically.
SOMEONE FOUND A LOGICAL REASON TO GET AN EMOTE!
Because Microsoft paid for it by giving me codes worth $5-$10
You guys disagreeing with facts have produced more salt than every single salt factory in the galaxiez.
-
Well -blam!- you too
-
What if, im a man that has a full time job and not some bum ass kid complaining about emotes because he doesnt have a job or mommy wont give em money? I work so i can buy whatever the hell i want. Quit complaining, its not like the emotes are killing
-
people pay RL money for worse. also for some people, 5 dollars isn't alot
You cannot justify this.
last I checked, I was me and you were you, which means I can justify whatever the -blam!- I want, or don't want to for that matter. You're just a whiny little bitch that either cannot afford emotes, or is some piece of shit internet white knight out to save everyone from shit they shouldn't give a -blam!- about. You. Are. God. Damn. Clownshoes.
-
I bought it because it made me feel slightly more important for about 2 minutes then regret came
-
TL,DR; Mommy didn't give me her credit card. Wah.
-
So, does this apply to only kids, or everyone who spends their money to play their game how they want to play their game? I just wanna know so I can figure out if you're just pissy cause your parents wouldn't let you buy them and now you're taking your frustrations out on others, or if you either can't afford to blow money on them or don't want to. The emotes aren't hurting you, so just shush.

Edited by Halfburied: 11/26/2015 1:25:38 AMI did it. Why? Because I could :) would I do it again? Probably not. Do I regret it? Nope, money comes and goes. Time
is more valuable
is Money
made outta paper :D
Lol I had 7 dollars on my account so why not? XD

Edited by JBO: 11/26/2015 1:17:11 AMExcuses? I do need to make excuses. I'll spend my money however I please regardless of what you think about it. We could all buy the absolute cheapest most basic car available. I personally like having power windows so I bought a nice car. I'm sorry you can't afford things you want but don't need. Some people can and you acting all high and mighty about it just makes you look like a sad little man. Go worry about your own life and stop whining about what other people spend their money on.
-
I don't give a damn what you think I just want to grieve my fallen allies, scare the shit outa some guardians, and DO THE THRILLER!!
-
Sh*t im 23 and I buy what I like. Don't even say shit because if you're old enough then I know your ass bought a ringtone back in the day which lasted fifteen seconds.
-
Edited by Phluphy319: 11/26/2015 1:14:40 AMThe excuses are more like reasons, if people can afford it and want to they will. Do you eat fast food? Maybe you should stop wasting money on evil giant unhealthy corporations, go to a farmers market and buy a lettuce.

Thanks Density.
First off saying you have cancer based on some people justifying a purchase that they have no need to justify is incredibly wrong. You should rethink your life on that part. As for emotes, the three excuses you gave are very legitimate excuses. I dont earn exponential amounts of money. But if something looks cool and i have enough to spare for it then why the -blam!- not. Companies will find ways to make money regardless. Destiny definitely isnt the first game to have micro transactions and most definitely wont be the last. Example: League of Legends is widely praised for its method of mtx to make money. 128 Champions. A single skin for a single champion (that you will only play a fraction of the time) is £5 Bungie knew about the business model of online games long before Destiny. You dont exactly have to look far. I have probably spent over an hour using a single emote. As such the emote has paid for itself in a sense. Good day.

Why do people buy fancy pairs of Jordan's Basketball Shoes every year that are just going to be irrelevant in a month? Why do girls worry about wether or not they are able to buy the new iPhone every year when the next one is just around the corner? Why do people buy the next big iTunes song when no one will listen to it in 2 weeks? Why do kids beg and cry for a toy they ever play with after Christmas? Why do we have to have a good reason to buy stuff? We don't. We just do it because it interest us. Are you saying iTunes should just make all their songs free just because YouTube has them for you to watch for free?

Gets upset at how people spend their money probably has no money himself.
-
So it seems Dr right is right.

Edited by jay p: 11/26/2015 12:30:41 AMThe cost of things is relative to the amount of money you have. You can't judge people for that. For some people, $100 could represent a significant amount of money, a full day's pay. For other people, it could represent 10 mins. That doesn't make anyone right or wrong. And it doesn't mean you should insult people.
-
Nothing one can say will justify it in your mind since you're avidly against it. So why get your panties in a bunch? Move on and don't spend the money. Ta-daa.
-
i mean, no one truly cares what you justify, tbh. it's a cosmetic item for a reason, but you know.
muted
Let's be real here, you just compared Destiny to another game. Even if no one bought the emotes I don't think Bungie would've given them to us for free. Why you so mad bruh?
