Lake leaned back in his chair while the warp drive was active. For a few minutes it was utter silence.
When he came out of hyperspace, he arrived at Venus. The only problem was, the entire area was littered with ship debris. Fallen, by design.
" Jesus Christ!"
Lake lurched forward and grabbed the manual controls of his ship and dodged as best as he could.

Romii comes out of a slipstream almost exactly as Lake does. R:" Aaah sh*t!!! Zen, Stall the warp." Banking hard away from Some debris puts her dangerously close to Lake,firing up the thrusters is dangerous out of orbit but she needs to change direction and fast.

She was too close. Debris was right in front of Lake, and he couldn't dodge because of Romii. Switching on his weapons, he tried blasting through the debris. It almost worked. His right wing got clipped and got torn off completely. Thankfully he was close enough to Venus to be pulled in by the gravity. He was crashing.

She sees Lake lose a wing, but barely has time to throw the jester into a 180 bank in order to squeeze between two giant bits of debris, thankfully it looks clear straight on but it won't stay that way. Her approach is way faster than it ought to be, but she manages to haul her ship up by its nose, before it all goes to sh**. Zen dumps her unceremoniously on the ground and disappears to try and retrieve the ship and put it in a stationary orbit.

Lake's ship grew more unstable as every second passed. He had no control anymore. Within seconds, his ship breached the atmosphere and was zooming towards the ground at top speed.

R:" That does not look good," She watches the trajectory of the stricken ship trying to anticipate where it's gonna come down. R:" Surely his ghost will trans him out before impact.?" Zen appears Z:" One would have thought."

His ghost had suggested that, but he had nowhere to transmit to. All he could do was hold on. Looking outside the window, he was about to crash into a derelict building. Ducking down and away from the window, Lake felt the collision. He was almost flung out of the ship. Instead of flying forward however, he was lurched backwards and slammed into the back of his ship.

R:" Oh sh**!! Tell me he trans'd out of there, and get my sparrow." Z:" He didn't . Romii high tails in the direction of the downed ship. When she reaches it all she see's is debris and and a building with a hole in it. R:" Zen scan that mess and tell me where he is and his status please hurry!".

This things wrecked. Also, might want to check yourself. You're bleeding.[/i] Lake's hand automatically went to his side, and sure enough, it was damp. He shook his head, knowing he didn't have the time, or the knowledge to patch it. " Whatever. I've dealt with worse." [i] Maybe not. It's pretty serious.[/i] " Why don't you just get me out of here?" The ghost made a sigh before flying towards the door, which thankfully, was still operable. Opening the latch, he limped into an office space. " Cozy."

R:" This is just great, exactly why I operate alone." She mutters to herself R:" Zen can you get me in there," Romii dematerialises, the materialises some where inside th ruined building. R:" Find him will you." After a couple of minutes she finds a closed door, and tries to open it without success. R:" Lake, you in there?"

" Depends. Where is here?" The place was dark, and he couldn't really see. At least, not any doors. Switching the light on his helmet on, he looked around. Sure enough, there was a door on the other end of the room. He limped over and opened the door. His wound was still bleeding, but he paid it no attention.

R:" Can u see if it's ...... F*** It, STAND CLEAR"

" Stand clear of what? I'm right in front of you!" He waved his hand in her face, as if checking if she was even paying attention.

She taps the side of her helmet, then bangs it harder. R:" Damn it the enhanced imaging has frozen again, I cant see jack now," She removes her helmet R:" Zen see if you can do something with that." She looks at Lake R:"your bleeding pretty bad?"

" Not too bad. I've had worse." His ghost appeared behind him. [i] I recommend dealing with it now. Of course he won't listen.[/i] " Let's get move on already."

R:"let me take a look at it" She's blocking his path out and has no intention of moving until this wound had been dressed.

" Can we not? I really don't want to waste time here."

R:"Well then don't argue and just do it, if it's nothing we are out of here anyway, if it's something I can dress it and we are out of here anyway- again."

" Or. We can just continue on, find the Warlock, you get your memory back, we go our separate ways. Then I can worry about a simple cut."

R:" Or we can ignore the 'cut' get half way to wherever and you can keel over wasting even more time because by then it will need more than a simple patch up."

Lake was going to say something back, but he gave up. " Fine. We'll do it your way."

R:" your gonna have to remove that chest piece. I'm skilled but I'm not magic."

Once it was off, he unzipped his under armour to reveal his chest. Aside from the obvious fresh wound, there was scars all over him. Long and short gashes. But the one that stood out was a cut. It was large, and circular in shape. He tried to seem as normal as possible. " Well, have at it then."

She's seen it all before, it doesn't even make her flinch. She grabs her flask, R:" this is gonna sting like a b**ch" She uses one hand to hold the wound open and the other pours her precious vodka on it. R:" what a waste."

Lake didn't flinch. He was looking around at the room. " We would probably be near one of the hideouts by now..."

Thank god he's not a squirmer she thinks to herself. R:" Gonna need stitches in that " She warns him before pulling out a pack of surgical needles.
