I've got some things that have been bothering me, hopefully this will be a fun test for you.
Which event brought the vex into our universe (not the hive realm), Crota's portal or the traveler's terraforming?
Also, the timeline of those events. If I'm not mistaken, Quria-meets-the-hive happens first, it is most likely afterwards that they have the black heart in the black garden outside of time, and some time afterwards the traveler comes to our solar system.
Finally, I cannot remember from where, but I have heard or read that the black heart was created from the traveler's self doubt. This would of course go against the new theory. Any idea where that came from?

Crota's portal allowed some Vex into Oryx's throne world, some of which escaped into reality. Quria laid a trap for Oryx in the Nichta(?) Thought Ship. The bulk arrived in our system during the Traveler's terraforming. The Vex-Hive battles happened a [i]long[/i] time before the Traveler entered our system. Assuming all Golden Ages are a few centuries in length, and the Traveler visited the Eliksni world and Harmony before us... And yes, the Black Heart appeared after Quria. That was an old theory that actually held some backing. The Traveler's doubt and fear solidified into a mass that actually harmed it. Now, however, it seems to be a proto-Darkness manufactured by the Vex. Or even possibly a worm, stolen from the Hive.

The Book of Sorrows explains that Quira steals a Worm (AKA Ahamakara) larvae and figures out that putting its whole computing to worship the larvae outside of time benefits the Vex. Hence, the Black Garden and the Heart.
