It is, in a way. But if you watch the videos like a scrub (me). It can lead you on some semi exciting adventures. Areas you never went to before. Some are "challenging" to get because of the spawns.

Yes, they are just random drops (like engrams) while playing the game in any location bar the dreadnought.

Honestly, I don't even remember how to get it. I just remember looking up on YouTube on how to get it and I thought to myself "meh, maybe later".
