You are crack on. The individual gun nerfs were PvP related, but the wholesale rendering of all year one weapons and gear to worthless? No one wanted that, there was no hew and cry. That was Bungie course correcting and a complete reversal of DeeJ's own words. Not that we are not used to that...
Seriously, point to any post that complained about field scout, firefly, or the variety of gun perks we had. Final round? Sure. Shot package and range finder? Sure.
Where did anyone post, "I sure wish Nightfall rewards would be removed, the XP bonus and great weapon drops!"?
Where did anyone post, "You know, people do these old raids too much. If only there was some way to make the year one content completely irrelevant..."?
Where did anyone post, "I'm tired of playing the old stuff. I wish they would paywall or close off entirely large pieces of the game..."?
Place the blame where it belongs - squarely in the lap of a group of "developers" who are quickly gaining a reputation for unerringly making decisions which make their "MMO" more confined, restricted, and less fun with each "addition".
I agree- this man has literally summed up the devs and this game as a whole.

I can see where you're coming from, but you have to understand, you are the minority. Let me tell you a short story, Bought my collectors pre-owned for $25, the guy from EB games (GameStop) said it had a little bit of wear n tear on the books and covers, I wasn't too fussed. I just wanted the disc and I was too impulsive when I was out shopping. So I’m at the counter, paying for the TTK collectors and the guy serving me has his face down with a smile...like he's holding something in. One of his team members was peaking from around the corner of the store room as I’m getting my receipt printed. "Is that the one?" excited with humorous anticipation he asks the guy serving me. The guy serving me finally cracks into a laugh "Shut up hahaha.” "What? Is there something wrong with my copy? The disc works right?".”Yeah hahaha, it's fine. He's just being an idiot. There you go, have a good weekend mate." So I’m home, I take the cover off the TTK collector's box and open it up. There's a Steelcase game disc cover and a Treasure Island book. First thing, I’ve opened up the cd case, good; the destiny take disc is there. So a bit of wear and tear huh? I have to see what he's referring to. I pull out the Treasure Island book, yeah, thing is tattered as hell. Fingernail scratches and what looks like blood or probably red ink splotches on the spine and front cover of the book. I initially thought this could all be for effect; I wasn't too familiar with what I was purchasing. I open up the book, there's notes, well hand-written notes by Cayde-6 which is pretty cool. I continue reading over the next page and that familiar blood-red ink shows up again, at first in splotches. Then as I continue flipping pages, words. "I didn't ask for this." "Again." "Is that you?" "Please." "Don't leave me hanging :)". I flip to the next page, ignoring the glossy pre-printed black text and focusing on the matt red scrawling, a red drawing of what looks like the tree in the tower... a stick-figure is drawn of a person hanging from the tree. "Can't make it end.” What the hell? Lol this is pretty messed up. I don't think is supposed to be in here, someone is obviously messing around and drawing in the book. I grab a tissue, spit on it and proceed to dab on the red ink. It seeps out onto the tissue; this isn't from the original publishing. On the opposite page of the creepy smiling guy hanging from the tower tree, a hollowed out cavity in the book containing a folded poster, but no strange coin replica as advertised. That's ok, $25, couldn't ask for much. In the round pit of the cavity, looks to be some kind of co-ordinates in black cursive, yet again, the red text re-appears. "I found another way.” This guy is nuts, I can see what the guys working at EB were on about. I wonder if they had the 'pleasure' of meeting the weirdo when trading in. I unfold the poster. On one side, a large exploded diagram of 'Sleeper Simulant' with some sectionals, pretty cool. Flip it over...w..t...f! Crazy here has taken it upon himself to draw all over the damn thing lol. Sets of intersecting straight lines, connecting to letters and numbers, overlaid by what looks to be some kind of demonic circles (not pentagrams) and runes next to other letters and numbers. More text in the same red scattered on the map: "I know your tricks." "He told me." "Please stop lying." "Leylines." "I'm not the only one.". The whole thing was a mess, but on the bottom right hand corner of the poster, two sets of codes, 9 characters long. I went to my laptop and input the codes in the Bungie code redemption page. I remember doing this back around vanilla release, you get quite a few shaders and emblems. I put in the first. Success! "Insula Thesauraria" some kind of emblem I can now collect. I enter the second code: "Invalid code. Please try again". Maybe I misread it, I look carefully and enter it again, I’m sure it was exactly how I entered it. "Please try again.". Strange, didn't say it was invalid. I do another check, there weren't any letters I could confuse with numbers, was pretty clear-cut. I enter the code one more time: "PSN ID: D*********@********.com, Password: ************" followed by another Xbox gamer ID variant. Did Bungie just give me someone's account details? Is this a joke? Must be some elaborate breadcrumb trail. I was nervously intrigued. I really just wanted to play the game at this point, however. So I decided to cut corners and tried to see where this trail led to. I went on Google and entered the account info. I was a couple of weeks late to TTK, surely thousands of others have figured this out by now. I entered the PSN ID and password. a few results came up, but nothing Bungie or Destiny related. I tried to narrow the results down by specifying with quotation marks "Bungie" /"Destiny" "PSN ID" "Password". nothing. So I went back to the original results, the PSN ID referred back to a user email associated with a forum user. The forum was about a help group for people dealing with depression and anxiety issues. There was a post dated back in August 2011 from a user named Daniel87.... ...There was only one post by this user, I can't quote it word for word. "Hey guys, My name is Daniel, I’m 24 years old. I don't think I fit any of these categories, I’m not depressed. One day I slipped on my bathroom tiles and hit my forehead on the sink and needed many stitches. Since then, every time I close my eyes, I see bright red lines in the dark, moving in different directions and connecting with each other, occasionally making patterns. I'm not sure if this is my brain or some kind or blood vessels in my eyelids acting up. But it's really annoying and I find it hard to sleep. It's making me moody and sometimes I feel I’m so tired, I start hearing voices of a woman in my head and it’s not my inner monologue. I know it sounds crazy, I often resort to playing video games, staying up playing until I fall asleep on the couch because I hate closing my eyes. Edit: Before you tell me to get my head checked, I can't afford proper healthcare to get scans. I just want to know if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks in advanced." This post was followed by several replies, all unhelpful, telling him to get a better job or try crowdfunding his medical expenses. Other people suggested relaxation techniques i.e.: meditation etc. That was about it, nothing more from this Daniel guy or his associated username apart from an old outdated Myspace page, had a quick look, nothing out of the ordinary I could see. Despite finding all of this unnerving, I proceeded to start up Destiny TTK, I had already downloaded the patch a few days prior and it was time to put the disc in. I opened up the Steelcase and try to pop out the disc. I never noticed this before, but the central ring in the cover that houses the disc had a tiny piece of folded paper jammed in it. I open the piece of paper. The red writing again: "I could only fold seven times." and underneath in smaller writing: "Let me show you.". F*** this guy! What's he playing at? I pop the disc out of the cover...another note...flat, no folds "Log me in." "You need to see it.". Log him in? He's referring to the credentials I got from entering his code in the Bungie page. 'Alright, let's play it your way, you're scarring the hell out of me now and I want this done with because you're wrecking my day quite frankly.' I thought. I sign out of my PSN and enter his credentials, it worked. I insert the disc and after a few minutes of loading additional files, I’m in. The character select screen loads up with one character, a human Hunter at 170 light level, an emblem back dropped just black. really odd. So I select it for play. connection error, referring me to Bungie help...Error code: Urchin...'O'button "No Daniel." WTF is going on? I’m back at the character select screen, screw it, I’ll start another character. Level 1. A ghost finds me inside a burnt out car shell in old Russia, good time, much reminisce. The ghost, he doesn't talk, no dialogue. What’s going on? I’m sure he's supposed to say something about finally finding me. I'm revived, on my feet. My ghost, he f***s off!, right into the air and over the cosmodrome wall. This isn't right, my game is buggy as hell. A woman's voice whispers in my headset, I swear I got shivers down my spine and goosebumps a split second before I heard it - "Let me show you." just like the note written in red. No one is showing me anything? I’m out of my depth, I’m staying right here with my controller gripped firmly in my sweaty palms, a monumental pillar of 'WTF is this s***?!!" TBC...
