Dear Bungie, please fix your drop rates for weapons engrams, or make armor materials exchangeable for weapons parts. The struggle is truly real. Other options could include making weapons parts available for purchase from The Gunsmith or Vanguard Quartermaster for glimmer/motes/ marks. My infusion of weapons has been entirely hamstrung by this one shortage. In the past there have been a few ways around this, such as going flawless in Trials of Osiris and then spamming weapon purchases from Vance for 500 glimmer per weapon and then dismantling them. Farming glimmer, lather, rinse, repeat. That option is also gone in year two. Please consider this issue and concoct a work around.
