Headsets do nothing for destiny dice the radar is always active.
You cannot hear foot steps, and don't need to with radar always being active.
But, spend that money

you can in fact hear footsteps. you can literally hear everything with good headphones. and if you're in a chat, they can hear you fart. so be weary.

You actually can hear footsteps. Also, if you use a headset your chat party doesn' t have to hear the game blasting from your tv. Which is very annoying. Note, when I say "your" in the example above, I am not talking about you specifically.

I hear footsteps, what direction a super is popped, and where the bullets are coming from. The radar doesn't give exact position. I can hear how close the people are.
