I hate snipers. That's practically all there is in trials and skirmish. Especially after Thorn got nerfed. Snipers: Hiding like bitches and taking advantage of the ridiculous target acquisition. Not to mention the perks head hunter and unflinching. I can blast a sniper in the face with a heavy machine gun and he just sits there calmly and snipes me in the head.

Right...so then. Tell me what in this game takes more skill than sniping. Shotguns? Nope Fusions? Maybe, but they're more forgiving than snipers. Sidearms? Lol So really, I see no reason why you complain about snipers on the forums. If you're getting wrecked as badly as you say you are, bud, then perhaps you ought to play with a bit more brains. Just an observation. Quite frankly, the majority of snipers out there are mediocre, and, if you know how, easy to outplay. So, if I were you, instead of complaining on this hellhole of a forum, I'd invest my time in improving and adapting to combatting those snipers. Just some advice from a seasoned sniper.

If you've played call of duty and you say sniping is hard in this game, then you sir are an idiot.
If you've played call of duty and you say sniping is hard in this game, then you sir are an idiot.
Never said it was hard, first off. Second off, I don't play cod. At all. And third, thank you for calling me an idiot for absolutely no reason. No, really, thanks a lot. All you did there was show me that you aren't mature enough to hold an actual conversation without resorting to name calling. Bad b8, m8.

Edited by Boricua Puro: 11/2/2015 5:04:01 AMI'll say snipes don't take skill... Once you get the hang of it, it's second nature and cheese puffs vs those who don't have the patience to figure it out... Once figured out, it then becomes a "crutch" so to say.
-
Let me just set the chart of skill. 1. Snipers 2. Hand cannons 3. Fusion rifles 4. Scout rifles 5. Pulse 6. Rocket launcher 7. Machine gun 8. Auto rifle. 9. Shotguns

Edited by Nizzy 303: 11/2/2015 8:52:01 AMYou guys are making me feel like shit for using Pulse Rifles, shotguns and Machine guns..😞

Once figured out, it then becomes a "crutch" so to say.
I don't follow your logic.. If someone develops the skill of sniping, then yes, it does somewhat become second nature. However, it's not like some math equation where all you need to do is figure it out. It's something you hone and refine as you practice to get better. By your logic, that once you've become proficient at something it's a crutch, then there's absolutely nothing that wouldn't qualify as a so-called crutch. If I'm misinterpreting your post, by all means let me know, but that's my takeaway from what you said.

Shotguns take even less skill to use than snipers. And i didn't say snipers don't have skill. The problem is the perks and ammo. The unflinching perk allows snipers to play up close and personal, where they don't belong. And players can easily play with their special weapons as their primary. I have to deal with snipers as much as auto rifles and pulses at close to mid range. A sniper pops out about 10 step ahead, i start to blast him in the head with my pulse, but with the unflinching perk he can just stand there line up his shot and instakill me. Obviously an unfair advantage. If a sniper gets me at long range then good for him. It takes some skill and i shouldn't have been in a sniper zone. And that's OK. I really don't need the practice. I'm smart enough to get a top 5% K/D ratio. Not the best in the world, but probably better than yours.

Lol top 5%??? Then wtf am I lmao

If you really want to know, I have about a 1.7...and top 1% in precision kills according to DTR. Not the best, but then again I never claimed to be anything close to the best, and frankly, I don't see many others running a NLB anymore. Look, the fact is that, first off, unflinching isn't as great as people make it out to be. I can testify personally to that, as can others such as PlanetDestiny. Second off, I'm questioning how much, or little, experience you have with snipers. Close-quarters sniping is much harder than long-range. Much less forgiving and much more demanding. If someone can pop you up close and personal, props to them. It's not as easy as it looks or as easy as you're trying to make it out to be. As for ammo, it's no different than shotguns or fusions. Ammo, of all things, I find to be a very weak argument as to why snipers are supposedly OP. So, in closing, if you don't need the practice and you've got the experience, then why are you being outplayed, and complaining about it? Now, I'm not trying to insult you, but merely asking a question. And, remember, everyone, even the pros, need practice.

Edited by XAMANDER: 11/2/2015 5:22:52 AMHow childish? Well, you insulted me by pretty much saying to "git gud" and i need to get some brains and stop complaining. Childish indeed. And if you're telling the truth (you hide your stats) then your K/D is barely better than mine. And a sniper boasting about precision kills....HA...HA HA! Yeah, that's what snipers do for almost every single kill. I have lots of experience with snipers, just with a different perspective than you. I can tell you with for an absolute fact i get killed by snipers at close to mid range a whole lot more than long distance snipers. And Bungie has stated many times they want snipers to be a long distance gameplay weapon. Just they want shotguns at close range, autos at close to mid range, hand cannons at close to mid range, pulses at mid to mid-long range and scouts at mid to mid-long range. All hold true for all weapon types except......Snipers. Snipers are taking advantage of a broken game by getting up close, away from where they're meant to be and overpowering other weapons with one shot kills. Getting hit by a sniper at 5 feet away is like getting killed by a shotgun all the way across the map. It shouldn't happen and Bungie agrees. And being able to use special weapons as your primary all the way through matches is easy. Special weapons are obviously more powerful than primaries. Bungie has also stated they don't want players to use specials more than primaries. And i don't get outplayed by snipers, obviously. I get a lot more kills than deaths. I'm winning most my encounters. But i can smell an OP weapon, and i'm going to call it out. Just like i did with Thorn. So in conclusion, Bungie agrees with me and you snipers are taking advantage of a broken game......That will probably be fixed.

Unflinching doesn't do anything on snipers. You literally can't tell a difference. So your argument is invalid..

Edited by Novastone: 11/2/2015 5:11:27 AMWhy keep mentioning kill death ratio, a meaningless statistic.

The vast majority of my kills are from pulses and auto rifles. I hardly ever use shotguns and never used hand cannons in PvP. You need to check stats too.
