SCHOLAR, SOLDIER, HERETIC... SAVIOUR.
At first, the life of a warrior in the Covenant army seems a noble one. But are the motives behind the war with the humans as innocent as the Sangheili, Sorran, believes? An act of heresy unveils a conspiracy spanning thousands of years, which could bring about the total ruin of the Covenant.

Prologue
Edict of the Most High Prophet of Truth, 9th Age of Reclamation.
By the authority of the noble Prophets of Truth, Regret, and Mercy.
Henceforth, any and all battle worthy Sangheili are to be transferred from any idle posts in High Charity and/or upon any Covenant held world/ship into the active combat. Those amongst the excused are the Honour Guard, the Councillors, and the mentally ill, physically unfit, and the old. Female Sangheili are, as always, prohibited from taking part in any military action.
Any Sangheili engaged in a guard post, other than the Honour Guard, will be replaced by the Jiralhanae until such a time as the High Council deems otherwise. Any Jiralhanae in question of where they now stand shall direct all enquiries to Tartarus, Chieftain of the Jirahanae.
Failure to adhere to this edict will result in death. No exceptions. These are trying times, my brothers. The Human infidels persist in resisting the might of the Covenant. Rest assured, this 'war' as some are calling it, will be over soon -- to be forgotten and dismissed as an insignificant event in Covenant history.
Posted by: n008c4k So apparently I can't post in the Memoirs thread, otherwise I would. It's been a year and half since you posted part 4 of Memoirs II, and you said you would rewrite it after finishing Insurrection. Have you lost interest or forgotten about it?
Neither. I think it failed, big time. He might make another after he's done with this.

This is turning out to be really good. Just from the 2nd part. That is as far as I have read but plan to read more later. Great work so far. I like it.

I'm wait, I'm wait, I'm waiting, I'm waiting...... ...Anyway, I still like all this sad portrayal and all. I wonder if Sorran and Savara will ever get the chance to reunite. ;^~^; Wolverfrog your story makes me depressed. It isn't a bad thing though, I guess a good story is meant to pull strings on the reader. 10/10 (Offtopic:Picture. I didn't make the picture, reasons in the picture in the description of it. Sorry if it offended you when I posted it.)

I've just got a lot more going on in my life than I did when I first started writing fan fiction. I'll try get Chapter 31 up as soon as I can, though.
-
Last time it took this long, a 10 chapter's worth of epilogue was published. I don't think that this is the case this time, though.

How's the next part coming? It's been over 3 weeks.
Posted by: me123456789 It looks like a magnum, And the room looks really human, Maybe it's after Halo 3 and he's on a human planet?
It looks like a plasma pistol because I don't think that the trigger of a Magnum is that far forward and the shape of the barrel is angular near the bottom. Personal I think its an elite that couldn't deal with killing so many innocent humans. Maybe he heard their screams in his head all the time, couldn't sleep. Couldn't dream peacefully. All he could see or hear was cries of innocent children whose throats got ripped out before his eyes. So in a room, after his last kill. He takes the plasma pistol, aims it at his head while sitting in the chair and - ZBBT. Dead. Either that or a human took an antique magnum and shot the elite in the face before dropping it and running. [Edited on 06.28.2011 12:05 PM PDT]

It's a Plasma Pistol. Kind of hard to see. EDIT: At least I think it is. [Edited on 06.28.2011 7:29 AM PDT]

Hmmm... interesting. I am The Anti-Troller and Ironically I inherit the styles and whatnot of those things that I read. I need to make my stories more detailed like your FFs however. Hmmm... I think the Anti-troller would even so much as consider you his 'hero' or Idol. Whichever sounds less creepy. [Edited on 06.26.2011 7:16 PM PDT]

I'm of the opinion that not everyone in the Covenant was a blind zealot. I think, as with any faith, there are those who take said faith a little further than others. There are of course people who believe unconditionally (Xatan'ee, Pel and others) and there are those who believe in the Journey but do not froth at the mouth over it. I don't think the Covenant hierocracy would kill thousands of soldiers purely because they surrendered in the face of overwhelming odds. Is that not how the Covenant was formed? Through the battering of races until they eventually gave up and joined the Covenant? Now, I don't completely adhere to canon with this story, maybe. Because if the Covenant was a completely alien culture to ours, there would be no relation to the characters and events. I like the idea of the Covenant being trapped in faith, but not completely besotted by it. There are radicals as with any religion, but most Covenant in my eye are just normal practitioners of the faith. These Covenant tend not to be in the higher echelons of rank, though, and we are very rarely shown the 'common' side of the Covenant in official Halo media so I think I can take some creative liberties.
Posted by: Wolverfrog
Posted by: The Seraphim In my head, I'm considering your story as Canon, as it fits well with the Halo Story ( With the exception of Thel'Vadamee being a Supreme Commander in 2530, he was only a Major at the time, 2 years after the glassing of Madrigal.
Well, this is more like 2532 (Eridanus II was indeed first glassed in 2530 but in the context of this story it was only a partial glassing as with Harvest, and so the humans thought they would be safe to live there as they believed the Covenant wouldn't return; in 2532, Xatan'ee is finishing the job), but I see your point. I'll try and work something out.
Another thing I noticed this isn't really a problem though is that you make the Covenant feel nearly the same morally as Humans, such as willingly surrendering, no religious zeal etc. I personally like your style of making the Covenant feel more human, although this shouldn't extend to the entire Covenant forces. If there were Covenant who had surrendered on a planet, the Covenant wouldn't have come back to help them, they would have glassed the planet with them on it. Humans to the majority of the Covenant were Vermin to be exterminated, not equal fighters who were fought in equal warfare. I personally like the way you have it, as it makes the Covenant seem like they are fighting for the prophets out of fear and that they are not so different from Humans, but it would be nice to see some of the Covenant religious "zealous" fervency in the future.
