Gali, our family dog, passed away this evening. She was with my family through a lot of hard times. I grew up with her, and it's extremely difficult to grasp the concept that she is now gone. I still remember the nights when I'd carry her up my ladder and into my loft as a kid..
After everything we've been through, she's the first to go- and it's hard for all of us to accept that. She was 11 1/2 years old, and was barely hanging on. She had a basketball-sized tumor in her stomach and it was growing rapidly... She left us today at home, in her bed, surrounded by her loving family.
So if you have the time, take to Earth, Mars, Venus, Luna, or even The Dreadnought, and fire a Gally shot for my pup, Gali.
She was a German Shepard, and a great one. I'll be wearing the Wolfswood Bond for a long time.

Update: The sympathy, love, and all around compassion you Guardians have all shown today has been both heartwarming and overwhelming. It's times like this when I remember that even though we can be a rowdy community, if there's one thing we know how to do, it's help each other, to be caring, and there for each other. The fact that none of you know me, but have the hearts to sympathize with my family and I on such a deep level is incredible, and I will never be able to express in words how much I appreciate that, and how thankful I am to be a part of this gaming community. You're like a second family to me, truthfully.
Lots of kind words tonight, I'm feeling a lot better, and am going to try and get some rest for the night. Keep doing what you do best, Guardians.

Edited by specialagenthill: 10/22/2015 12:06:18 PMDogs are wonderful companions and its sad that they have to leave us. But, now Gali is chasing that big bone in the sky, happy as can be! For Gali, I fired a GHorn shot on earth, and watched it fade into the distance. And while it is hard to deal with the loss of Gali, just always remember the good times you both shared, and cherish those times!

Ill take one out for you.... Pets are often closer to us than humans.... They are the only ones who NEVER abandon us, mistreat us, or stop loving us even for an instant... I lost - a cat of all things - a year ago who was more like a dog.... she broke my heart. I even made a dvd about her.... so I feel your sorrow. And I an sure it runs very deep. But she suffers no more. Some kind words... When I am gone, release me, let me go- I have so many things to see and do. You must not tie yourself to me with tears, Be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess How much you gave me in happiness. I thank you for the love you have each shown. But now it is time I traveled alone. So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must, Then let your grief be comforted by trust, It is only for a while that we must part, So bless the memories within your heart, I will not be far away, for life goes on, So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can not see or touch me, I will be near. And if you listen with your heart, you will hear All my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I will greet you with a smile and "Welcome Home".

Sorry for your loss. I will get a Gally from a blue print tonight and end Atheon old style in tribute.

That's terrible man. People who don't have pets don't really realize how much they become part of the family. Just got the ghorn out of the vault to go fire some rounds in remembrance. Stay strong guardian!

Yea I've grown up with family pets. I'm 32 years old and I've never understood the pain humans inevitably put themselves through for allowing themselves to get so attached to something that they KNOW will die before them...that's literally insane!! It's clinical when you think about it...like really...besides it was just food long before "modernized" folks came around. I'm not saying I'd eat one but deep down we all would if faced with starvation. Regardless if it's ol Family Skippy or not...You'd eat him so fast if that was all you had. So go on with the delusional illusion that you obviously need. Some people man...I swear
-
My condolences to you man, I lost my German Shepherd to liver cancer 3 weeks ago. He was only 10 years and a half. To dog owners, have your dog get regular check-ups, you won't know that they might have it before it's too late.
-
My sympathy to u and your family and I will burn a few synt'sfor Gali

omg, I am having a hard time reading this on this morning in particular. I am sorry for your loss. At least she lived a good life. I was woken yesterday by my neighbor's daughter screaming. Their beloved and new 6 month old German Shepard puppy was drowned in their pool. We ran over and performed CPR but we were way too late. She was hysterical as her mom and dad are away on vacation this week out of the country and cannot be reached. I will never forget trying to save that little pup. I have more compasison for animals than humans. I am still sick to me stomach.
