All these guys defending timegating....
I don't see any timegating on other games... I bought batman and the entire game was there for me to play... ALL OF IT. Nobody complained that they were out of content because they played through it too fast.
The Witcher, Batman, Mass Effect, Halo, Gears of War, Final Fantasy, Skyrim, Fallout... all of these games release with full content and no time gate. And there are people playing it for months and even years without any new content.
I paid for this game. The Taken King Expansion was the same costs as Fallout 4. I don't want nor do I appreciate bungie telling me that the only way for me to get The Black Spindle is to play it on the day its a daily without notifying me of when this is going to occur. I cant check everyday and then get a team ready when the day comes: i have a life and so do my friends. Sometimes we cant play at all.
Now if bungie did it like Trials or Iron Banner and gave us the date in advance: sure, I can schedule it. But "SURPRISE! DO IT NOW OR ITS GONE!" is only for people who don't work, don't study or are obsessed with the game.
And apparently because there was a match yesterday my team was watching it instead of playing and it looks like there was some special quest? whats this about visiting FWC and heading to the vault I am hearing?
Gee, thanks a lot bungie. I really like knowing that i missed on something because im not playing 24/7
the taken king was not 60$ sorry try again numb nuts.
Did you just ressurect this thread to say that? I never said the taken king was 60$. I said I paid the same for the taken king as I did for my fallout 4 pre order: £39.99 In the uk (you know another country!) the Taken King expansion was priced as a full game.

I did not time gate ! Dis is bullshit I did not ... Oh hi Luke
-
Go play WoW... lots of stuff is timegated essentially. A lot of MMO like stuff is timegated. It's the model... deal with it or go play CoD.
-
Paradigms are never self justifying.
-
Timegated content.. Pokemon
-
Pokemon are your weapons. Quick Gjallarhorn! Use wolfpack rounds! It's not very effective...
-
Well any die-hard pokemon player knows that Nintendo releases certain pokemon as "Mystery Event" rewards". Once it's over it's over.
-
This game is infusing, i mean, evolving into pokemon
-
Timegated content was kept secret, you didn't even know black spindle existed when you bought taken king. I see it as more of a surprise gift from bungie. And there is also the possibility of the content not being completed. PS witcher had timegated content.

That part is fine. Im really happy that there is content coming in. Problem is: to play the black spindle mission you need to wait for the daily and there is no way of knowing when is it coming. I have to be on the lookout and ready to drop other stuff to play it. And Yes, it might just happened to be on a day i was already planning on playing. For example: yesterday it was paradox. I didnt play because i was watching tv. Today I find out that there was a secret in Paradox. Now to go and play that I have to wait until Paradox cycles back into the daily... thats whats bothering me. Not that it was only available after 1 month, that its only available on a day that bungie will decide and we cant even know until it happens. You got straight 24h to find out about it, get your team ready and go do it. Sometimes its not possible. Havent played witcher 3 yet, its sitting there on the shelve since day one because ive been playing destiny.
-
Bump !!!
-
Umm, Witcher 3 had 16 weeks of time gated material ...just sayin'
-
Witcher had content that could only be played on a specific day? Cause thats the problem. Not that its coming later in the month but that it will come without warning and you have 24h to get your team and do it. Havent played Witcher 3 yet, its sitting on the shelve envying all the attention destiny gets.... right next to Dragon Age Inquisition and Metal Gear.
-
Witcher 3 did it the right way. Steady, timed release of content is nice, but does casual players (the bulk of your player base) no good when its a one day event and we discover it the next day...

Stopped reading after, "I bought batman." I didn't know he was for sale and I don't know what he has to do with Destiny, but if you could put me in contact with your BMP (Batman provider), it'd be much appreciated.

*gasp* a game might be different
-
In a bad way
-
It's just a way to string out limited content.
-
I'm with you on this one. I only tend to be able to play Sunday's or Wednesdays...... Should the quest not drop on those days I'm -blam!-ed!
-
I ran spindle mission two separate times and I work and go to school all while enlisting in the military.... So....
-
So?? you got lucky that the daily was there when you were available or did you postponed whatever you had planned for that night to play the daily?
