For Hunters only. Titans welcome since this kind of concerns you, but keep the coversation polite. If I see a single hammer or fist of panic, you'll be booted out the door with several void arrow's up your rectum. No Warlocks.
So it has come to my attention that we've somehow gained this reputation for crying about Sunbreakers, like we're a bunch of whiny-a** Warlocks. Now I know it's not all of you, it only takes a few rotten apples to spoil the bunch, and most of it was probably just Warlocks in cloaks trying to make us look bad (they're manipulative like that). But you few Hunters going around being crybabies and giving the rest of us a bad name, STOP IT. We had our time being rulers of the Crucible, a little competition isn't a bad thing. Besides, who do you think gave that super to the Titans? I mean come on, a super with the mobility of a Bladedancer and the lethal range of a Gunslinger?
Too many Warlocks were complaining about how offensively built we were in Crucible and giving us flak for not giving them enough support in raids (Even though Bladedancer's have been the team medic since the very beginning!). So Cayde and a select few Hunters got together with Zavala and Shaxx, and proposed a deal. Show us the way of the Void and make us one of the best support classes the City's ever seen and we'll help make your Titan's unstoppable behemoths in the Crucible. They eagerly accepted. Even the name 'Sunbreakers' was an inside joke to annoy Sunsingers (eventually we plan to name a set of Night Stalker exotic boots 'Voidwalkers' just to get on their nerves further).
Sunbreaker's fine as is. If anything, we should be calling for buffs on all the other supers; with the exception of Voidwalker and Striker, both subclasses do what they do well, which is deal out heavy amounts of AOE damage.
Suggested Gunslinger buffs
Our Golden Gun needs a damage boost. In the 2.0 update, Bungie raised the power of GG because some Sunsingers running Radiant Skin and the Ram were able to live through a shot. They even stated that in all circumstances GG should be a one shot kill in the Crucible. Now we have Sunbreakers able to live through it just by running max armor. Just bump up the damage a little on it, and we should be good.
Stormcallers
Storm Trance either needs a very slight damage boost, or better armor. Right now they're still pretty squishy, which is not a good thing when your super can take a second or two to kill. When I was running my Titan in a rift game, a Stormcaller started digging into me with Storm Trance and I was able to super up and kill him with a single hammer before he could finish me off; when I'm running my Hunter I just kill them with a shotgun or put some distance between us and get them with my primary. Instances like this are only going to increase as people become more accustomed to countering it.
Nightstalkers
Shadowshot's good, on the instances it works as intended. In PVP it needs to function more like it does in PVE and not bug out as much. That means instant suppression and tethering ON HIT, not whenever the tether decides to activate. Also the damage on it is bugged. At times a direct hit will one shot a max armor Sunbreaker mid super, other times a direct hit will only do 110-120 damage to a regular Warlock or Hunter with no defense buffs. And fix Blood Bound so that it shares full damage among tethered opponents, not a small portion of it, so that people have a reason to use something other than Quiver on occasion.
Bladedancers
Even those of you licking wounds from year 1 have to admit Bladedancer's pretty tame now. The super armor's been nerfed to the ground and even before the rise of the Sunbreakers it took to two slices to kill a regular Titan or a Warlock wearing the Ram. Good luck getting close enough to do that to a Sunbreaker or Stormcaller. Even the only two decent grenades Bladedancers had were heavily nerfed, and it was already the subclass with the worst grenades to begin with. I say bring the super armor back to where it was at launch, and bump up the damage on Arcblade. A ranged move wouldn't be bad either, it's always bugged me that it's the class that's all about knives, but it's the Gunslinger's that get the throwing knife. Granted there's Razor's Edge, but that's impossible to use in the air and aims based on where you're running, not where you're aiming, making it impossible to use when strafing or backing up. I'm envisioning a built in move on the super that doesn't require a perk, were we press LT to hurl the Arcblade for a one shot kill at the cost of the rest our super energy. No aim assist or AOE on it. You could use it at the start of the super for the chance of one ranged kill at the cost of instantly ending your super or save it at the end as a kind of Hail Mary to get one last kill in before the super runs out.
Sunsingers and Defenders
Now for Sunsinger and Defender. If you've played Mayhem, you'll know these are probably the weakest super's you could use. For Sunsinger, infinite grenades just doesn't cut it when everyone else is already hurling massive explosions and shooting instant death everywhere, and self-revive will just get you killed again. Defenders are a purely defensive subclass, enough said. The problem is I'm not sure how these could be tweaked without unbalancing them in other gametypes or messing up their use in PVE. I'm open to suggestions, but it just maybe that these Subclass's supers will just have to keep their niche status in the Crucible.
Come on fellow Hunters, even with everyone complaining about how underpowered we were in PVE, we still carried on with our heads held high. Now we're the best in PVE too. Heck, it was OUR Vanguard rep that put a Guardian on the Dreadnaught. If we band together, we can beat this bad reputation too.
Tell a Titan only a madman would go. Tell a Warlock it's too complex. Tell a Hunter they can't do it.
EDIT: So it looks like we're trending. Glad to see everyone being so positive and polite. Keep it up! In fact the majority of the few complaints I have got seem to be from, unsurprisingly, Warlocks. Told you they can be whiny. Anyways, Cayde-6 has just informed me he's finally removed the pile of rocks Eris left and reached the liquor cabinet. Now that the kiddies are asleep, let's start passing out shots!
EDIT2: So much for polite conversation. Pass out some booze and duck out for a bit, and this is what I come back to. Not so much the Titans, you guys are alright. I was a little worried, what with your love of punching things, I'd come back to a massive brawl, but you seem to hold your liquor pretty good. I do see a few Hunters and Warlocks tussling in the back though. "Hey, break it up!" Fellow Hunters, come on. You're better than that. If you see someone trollin' just show them to the door, don't sink to their level. Those of you getting shown to the door, what's your problem? Most of the Warlocks here have been very well mannered conversationalists, one even brought chips for everyone, why are you causing trouble? Here I am, just posting an alternative to nerfing Sunbreakers that would benefit everyone and all you few have done is hurl insults at Hunters and prove you're every bit as pompous and immature as I made you out to be; AND are the reason I said no Warlocks. Be a better credit to your kind and show some class; loosen up a little, join in some civilized discussion.
The above only applies to a few people (you know who you are) most of you have been great. I appreciate all the positive comments and discussion going on. Keep it up!

Give this man a -blam!-ing cookie. I agree with everything you say. I've Maines Titan since the Alpha was out. I like this support of each other over the yell of nerf. #BuffUsAll

Edited by RumblingJOSEPH: 11/4/2015 12:40:41 AMSeems to me you're new to the forums. There is already a hunter family meeting thread.

Buffs for other classes?! This hunter meeting is a sham! Shenanigans!

The only time I hate Sunbreakers is when they chase me and kill me. This speaks volumes. I hate all classes the same when they chase me and kill me. #HuntersAndTitansMakeLove

WARNING: WALL OF TEXT INCOMING! I guess I'll take the invitation to the conversation since my main is a Titan. Honestly, I don't feel the Sunbreaker is as OP as some say, but there can be a few changes like less armor. None the less, this situation is kind of like when the first sidearm came out and everyone said it was OP, it really wasn't but no knew how to counter it. I noticed the hate on Sunbro's has declined recently, meaning ppl probs figured out a counter. Too add on, the super is strong, but the general builds are not. They are more suited to being in super rather than not. Also, I find warlocks complain more about sun breakers than hunters. A guy once told me that a lot of ppl relate to their main. Hunters I know are big on being that solo slayer. Like wise, Titans like being the tough, unstoppable force. Warlocks vary, but the worst and most out spoke ones tend to be elitists. But when someone else takes the lead, like sun breakers in pvp, the put a little salt in their step. That's pretty much all my thoughts. feel free to msg me if u want to discuss this more. And as a parting gift, here is a fun fact: Sunbros are allergic to grenades. If u stay out of sight, like right above, and throw a nade, they're worm food.

Defender blessing of light needs to be buffed. When I shoot a shotgun at a guy and he kills me in the infamous shotgun kill trade. THAT MY SUPER. Let me survive a freaking shot gunner. Also make the shield take 3 golden gun shots to take down. Their super can kill ours but this way it can't kill us afterwards. I also think it shouldn't be broken. The description of the super says "an indestructible shield". Nothing should break it.

Ran out of room in he main post. So I was thinking we could maybe start talking more about the serious side of my post concerning buffs to supers. Stormcallers
Seems a lot of Stormcallers say Stormtrance is fine as is. That's ok, I was just trying to think ahead and keep an eye out for them. I'm a guardian first and foremost after all, I look out for my allies.
Bladedancers
Seems a lot of people love my idea for a ranged attack on Bladedancers, so I thought I'd expand on that a bit. Since the whole idea is putting all your super energy into one throw, why not make it do more damage at the start of the super than at the end and give it precision damage. In PVE a precision throw at the start of the super would be almost equivilant to a Celestial Nighthawk GG and a non-precision throw at the end no differen than running up and slicing. This would work to give Bladedancers more DPS potential. Now in PVP the throw would kill regardless of precision damage or how much super energy's left, but if you facing down say, a mid-super Sunbreaker with a sunspot overshield, you'll need the little bit of extra oompf of a precision shot or the first half of your super to get that one hit kill.
Sunsingers
Talking with DamagingMoth47, we came to the conclusion that maybe buffing Sunsinger's support potential in Song of Flame is the way to go. So how about buffing it so all teammates abilities recharge 4x faster regardless of proximity when Song of Flame is active and increase armor, recovery, and a solar weapons of light on all teammates nearby; like a proximity of two Titan bubbles away, enough to still be close together but not get everyone wiped out by a Nova Bomb or Rocket. This would also help make up for Sunsingers nerfed orb production.
Defenders
I think more Defender tailored exotics might be the way to go on this. JurgenBlitz suggested an exotic helmet that allows it's user to shoot THROUGH his own bubble, but at the cost of reducing his gun´s damage by 50-40%. I came up with an exotic chest piece that would causes the bubble to reflect damage at the cost of only lasting a third as long as it's usual duration. It would be meant to reward good deployment timing. Someone shoots a rocket at you, you bounce it right back at them. A Hunter GG's it, he die's and you get a super kill. A Warlock Nova Bombs, they take all the damage and explode dealing splash damage to any teammates nearby. Obviously the chest peice would have to be brightly colored and obivious as a warning to other players for the sake of balance. Oh, and Defenders melee overshield needs to activate on hit like a Warlocks Flameshield, not on kill.
Don't tell me what to do.
-
Ok. I see where you are going. If they aren't going to nerf sunbreaker then gunslinger NEEDS 1 hit kill potential. And nightstalker needs quiver back!
-
I'm not one to complain about subclasses, but Sunbreaker needs a nerf. Let me explain. I don't care about tracking or explosions or whatever. What I care about is that I fire a golden gun and they don't die? Or a sniper headshot and they still live? Or a luck in the chamber sniper to body and they live? Huh? What? I'm sorry did I miss something? They are super powerful ways of dealing damage and are 99% of the time a one hit. That missing 1% is Sunbreaker. Just nerf the damage resistance please. Then I'll be happy.

Edited by BIGwillestylz: 10/15/2015 8:13:05 AMGoes like this. Hunter 1"I'll stroke you off and points to Hunter 2" Hunter 2 points to Hunter 3 and says I'll give you a blow job" Hunter 3 points to Hunter 4 and says. "I'll give you a hand job" Hunter 4 says" hey your supposed to -blam!- me. ". Just then a hammer hurling Titan storms through the door and says "you're all -blam!-ed now" Sorry it's late here and I'm tired

I main a Titan and hate my super
-
Edited by ShiestySorcerer: 10/12/2015 2:15:59 PMThis class elitist shit needs to stop. I play all 3. Not as much as my Titan, but I main a Warlock and a Hunter. Each class is better at something then the other two. Warlocks can clear adds with StormCaller and can clutch with self Rez. Hunters can now spawn SO many orbs and can still be the team medic. Titans buff the team and DPS with Melting point. To say one is better then the others is ignorant. As far as pvp, each class had annoying traits. Warlocks have self-Rez, Titans have that insane Armor on HoS, and hunters have that Arc blade and Quiver on NightStalker. Nothing is crazy OP. You just like to bitch about it. Edit: not talking about OP. Just nerf post in general that OP mentions.
-
Y would u complain about sunbreakers? They're the most sh*t exotics in the game ;)
-
Three options only when you see a Titan bust that super. 1.) arrow to the face. 2.) run away so the super is a waste 3.) if your whole team is near. Unload on the Titan.
-
And I just laugh when I tether a hammer of sol and shut them down and they are just standing still raging at their wasted super while the hunter master race finishes them off
-
Bow em. End of story.
-
Hammer of sol is actually pretty useless against a jumping hunter
-
I don't think Storm trance need buff. It can kill you very quickly.
-
For storm caller, I don't feel like the super is weak. Its actually really strong. Everyone just takes one look at HoS and compares it to that. Yes it gets killed by things like nova bomb and FoH, but that's what those supers do.
-
Hey guys fellow Hunter{I use my titan just as much though}. So first off, I brought my Doritos stash. And my opinion on Sunbreakers, I think Cauterize(hungering blade but for hammers) needs a tweak. It should return a portion of your health, not all. Damage resistance should also be reduced.
-
Necrobump
-
Tbh Stormcallers seem pretty balanced right now. They can be sniped or shotgunned w/ melee, but still do a lot of damage which what a Sunbreaker should do. Shadowshot definitely needs to be adjusted with the fact that it doesn't always tether enemies and does not always hit players we aim at. The annoying thing is that we jump to do our super and in close quarters might hit a wall or ceiling because of it.
-
I just debuff enemie supers with Shadowshot...then well..kill them.
-
As a Titan, can we agree that this whole thing ISN'T Hunters vs the Titans.... It's the.. "Hypocritical Asshole Idiot Titans that finally have power" vs "Butthurt whinning lil shit Hunters that have gone into salt induced rage" I've always liked the Hunters...it saddens me that this whole thing is making me hate them... I just wanna be friends lol
