Yes I know you can use your secondary and heavy but.. Try running around with a shotgun as a Titan, see how far that gets you. Plus every death sets you back 1%.
Call me a scrub I don't care, I play destiny for PvE not PvP
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ haters gonna hate.
edit: not really gonna boost, just said it for bait.
But seriously the last word is about as useful as full blown AIDS
Edit 2: Wow almost 700 comments! Thank you to all of those who are giving kind words of encouragement and positive feedback. Even you guys that tell me to "get good"!
Edit 3: I DID IT!!! FINALLY. I went into classic 6v6 played defensively, used the new arms day fusion rifle (it's a beast). And I cleared their whole team with my hammers twice!! Thank you to all of those encouraging people, without y'all this wouldn't have been possible.
Shouts out to: mikeyhaugzz for being awesome

I admit it was shit hard, but far from impossible. You just have to be extremely patient and cautious. I myself played a lot of Rift. Tight maps + machine gun streaks = a quick boost.
-
Mayhem is a godsend for that bounty
-
Last week's Mayhem was how I got through that part.
-
I did it all in one night
-
Go into mayhem and since you're a Titan just kill people with hammers while you have last word equipped
-
You get a multiplier for kill streaks. Just play control where you can sort of predict where the enemies are, keep a distance and pick people off. And stick with a group. Even if you're not playing with friends just follow whoever is leading the board for your team.

erm i dont know if its just me but when i did the chaperone quest i played rift using the ladt word and more or less camped it out. took 2/3 games. with the shotgun part i just ran around getting kills. i didnt get knocked back anything for death on shotguns. dont remember what was next but killing the brothers isnt the worst quest iv had. you can kill one then the other of different runs so its not that bad.

Getting killed only sets you back if you're on a streak. At least it did with me. I'm a PVP player (except for IB, I LOVE IB) and I managed it relatively easily.
-
I'm a pve player and I completed mine in a few games. Just don't think you have to play fair. I had a couple amazing 3.0 kd games where I was just corner camping with the last word the entire time and stealing teammates kills. This quest really loves multi kills and killing sprees. If you're really that bad, you should only switch to last word when you have heavy and your super is up. I just threw a few hammers and got an easy triple kill. Follow it up with a few rockets. You also get 3% for winning the game.
-
Finished mine in 42 minutes
-
Last word tears people up. Who taught you math?
-
The Chaperone is AMAZING 😉
-
Then one would think you don't deserve the weapon. No worries. I don't either.
-
Nope, it's easy. And boosting is cheating and can get you banned.
-
2 words: mayhem rumble!
-
It's a legitimate strategy, if you can pull that off, you should boost
-
Dude, I'm barely over a 1.0KD and I did it without a huge issue. Anything over a 5 kill streak is 5% added. Have a couple of good games like that and you will be done.

Edited by AlTrio: 10/7/2015 6:45:53 AMIf you play Destiny for PvE and not PvP you're going to be missing absolutely nothing by not getting the Chaperone. Other then that, just switch to TLW during heavy and go on a machine gun spree, or be a dick and shotgun rush. Titans have some of the easiest time shotgun rushing with skating. Really you just want to eliminate variables. Go to Inferno, it's super easy to go positive in there with how bad some people play. Go to Mayhem, you don't even need to use any guns on a Sunbreaker. Play with a team in Skirmish. The list goes on.

Edited by unclebenrip: 10/7/2015 6:41:44 AMI'm not great at pvp and I finished TLW kills in two matches....boosting is for scrubs Edit: just saw your edit

Edited by coffeecreamguy: 10/7/2015 6:28:05 AMTips - If you don't like using TLW, don't use it. ANY kill counts so long as TLW is equipped. If you can snipe and get more kills, or manage a good heavy kill streak, do that - Learn to use TLW as what it is now - a close range monster. I do mean close range, like shotgun range. It's just outside shotgun range, but in there, it's like it was never nerfed. Lot riskier though - Play Mayhem modes. Since you don't need TLW kills necessarily, go Mayhem and use your super. If you're a Sunbreaker, take advantage and go ham. If not, play as carefully as you might normally, and you'll probably see more progress than in a regular game - Don't try to do this bounty AND the exotic sword bounty at the same time. You'll just get neither done - If you're on a good streak and it ends/you're scared it will, take off TLW. Equip something else. Rather than continue and risk losing your progress, save it for another match, without having to quit - Be patient. It might take a fair few games, or only 4 (I got well lucky). Just don't expect to finish so soon because you won't be disappointed if you don't, and you will be chuffed if you do EDIT - one more thing - KD matters a lot here. It's not a base increase for kills and decrease for deaths only, there's more. Kill streaks, multi kills, other things (e.g. Phantom) all yield progress too. Rather than get a load of kills and a bit less deaths, try for some kills (10-15) and minimal deaths as best as possible. It's much better to go 15-5 than going 30-20

... Shotguns are not the only special, about half my kills were snipes.
-
Play mayham clash
-
It's impossible yet a bunch of people have it? Well I'm sorry it's so hard for you good luck if you try to continue to work at it.
-
Hmm tlw is not what it used to be...True I guess it was easy for me because i use a lot of HC'S. Rumble is just as hard if your not uses to it, it might help if you try use TLW only in cqc maps like burning shrine. If your playing a larger map where snipers rule, it gets alot harder. Also consider secondary weapons that allow you to finish up kills, i sometimes use side arms for that last shot rather than missing my last 4 TLW shots. Its funny how often i can hit 2 head shots and then miss the whole rest of my clip lol. Lastly maybe your in a funk, so it is easy to go from doing ok... too a downward spiral where you end up with less % than you started with, its maddening. Just try to have fun and not take it to seriously, because it just adds alot of pressure and can effect your gameplay. Good luck bro!

If it's impossible then why do I have it?
