Okay, so I've finally got back into Destiny after not playing for a good number of months.
I spent 3 hours setting through 6GBs of patching..
And logged into the game to see that whilst my Titan level was still 33, my Exotic and Legendary weapons were..
Absolutely Neutered.
Um, Bungie, Wtf? I busted serious ass to earn all those Exotics and Legendary weapons and gear and in one fell swoop you effectively neutered every single piece of equipment I have?! I don't give a damn what the purpose of it was; it was downright dirty.
I can't even partake in crucible because of what you've done, because now nothing works. These Exotic weapons are supposed to be the best of them all, and what I have are no better than the common white garbage guns you can buy from the Exo. Same goes for my armor too, including my Insurmountable Skullfort.
You REALLY botched this one, Bungie, and I am extremely displeased with what you have done. I demand that you find a proper solution to this serious error that has very negatively impacted Destiny's playability. I was intending to buy TTK to continue my Destiny experience, but after this huge insult to me and my Guardians I honestly don't think I will.

If you feel this way, then I suggest you stay away from any game that has MMO elements. It's normal for expansions to make existing equipment redundant. One of the longest running MMO's does this with every expansion. WOW, Rift, ESO, Lotro, EQ2, WS, etc all do it, and it's expected. It's new content, new level cap, new gear to be earned. You claimed you were intending to buy TTK to continue your experience? What experience would that be? Straight to end game? You want the new end game, then work your way there, don't expect anyone to give you a boost or carry you. Stop with this self-entitled bullshit.

If you live in the US check this out. Time to enforce our consumer rights.
1. Contact the retailer you purchased Vanilla Destiny from (and the pre-TTK expansions) and request a refund. Some of us have been successful in getting a refund, but it seems many are from digital copies. 2. File a complaint with FTC. https://www.ftc.gov/faq/consumer-protection/submit-consumer-complaint-ftc 3. File a complaint with BBB. http://www.bbb.org/
They aren't going to bring back year one weapons. Get the hell over it already.
-
What would be the point of new content if you could do it with old gear? I don't get why people can't understand this...
-
glad you could catch up with the rest of us
-
Yes, they need to have year 1 relevant( probably not all of it ). You could approach this different way, maybe ask to have year 1 raid and PoE gear brought to year 2. It's just horrible seeing people rage about it, come up with something constructive( something people will agree on ).
-
You can rebuy half of them with year two versions using legendary marks
-
Welcome to year 2

I find it embarrassing that you bought something without researching your purchase, and got mad at the developer. Pay attention next time. We knew about the year 1 weapon purge weeks before TTK released. And the whole "I can't even succeed in crucible because my guns were nerfed" thing is just plain stupid. Your guns still work in crucible as attack values are normalized.
-
the values are the exact same You do the same damage and everything And you can play crucible The raids And legacy strikes? No IB No ToO No KF And your insurmountable skullfort got a buff i thought? And all of your guns are definitely better than banshees test weapons
-
Dude be happy to have a whole new set of weapons to chase down and gleefully use. There are so many awesome options now. The old stuff was stagnant as hell
-
Lol they did that so new attack values aren't like 600 attack. Also, it doesnt affect you because you are poor and can't afford TTK, so you aren't doing yr. 2 activities. Your guns still do the same damage to year 1 enemies as they did before.
-
fallout 4 ftw!
-
Dude, that's so frustrating. You know what?, that's not the only thing non expansion buyers has lost. Check >this< and >this< out.

I bought TTK when I returned to destiny and it only took me two days to get geared up. #entitledmuch
-
Kid you dont even have a level 30 gtfo
-
Year 1 gear is still useful in year 1 missions and raids. Level of gear doesn't matter in crucible because level advantages are disabled.
-
You lost me at "you earned your gear"
-
Your weapons work the same in crucible as they always have (level advantages are disabled). Also, this is pretty far past the changes to be complaining now. Even when it first happened, Bungie ignored the complaints. Why would they care now? lol
-
No one cares
-
They don't care if you don't get TTK. They have millions buying it! XD
-
You're either lying or blowing things way out of proportion. Your weapons weren't neutered, they perform exactly the same on enemies of the level they were effective against before. Exotics haven't been touched unless its a year two version. They perform the same. If you can't compete I the regular crucible, it definitely isn't the game's fault.

Lol 40$ would remedy those issues
