So Oryx, the destroyer of hundreds of worlds destroyer of a galactic empire, who killed one of the five worm gods, who spoke directly to the darkness, who even beat the vex, got his ass kicked twice by a few guardians? Not to mention the cabal nearly blew up his throne world, the dreadnought at one point. That jus makes me feel all powerful, a more afraid of the cabal.

I think it's Sword Logic, actually. To become stronger, we kill, and take the strength of the dead as our own. We killed strike bosses and gained strength, killed The Templar, Gatekeepers, and Atheon. We then fought Ir Yut, and gained her strength. Eventually, we killed Crota. We then moved on to kill PoE bosses. Then Skolas. After that, we struck down Oryx in our world. Later, the Warpriest, Golgoroth, and the Daughters fall to us. By the time we reach Oryx we've killed so much (Not only that but there's also 6 of us) that by Sword Logic, we'd be nigh unstoppable.

Never thought of that. That's cool

To be fair in the campaign we had to became Ascendent so that we could Defeat Oryx. So I believe technically speaking we're not exactly 'normal' guardians anymore. Basically we're the chosen one at this point.
