Black Spindle Quest #BUNGIEREPLY
Does anyone consider Bungie a "Professional" and "Respected" gaming company? The black spindle hidden story mission is a return to Year 1 and is a total joke. Normally Bungie has created unique mechanics to drive player engagements, however this mission provides nothing of the sort.
A timer is not a unique mechanic. Darkness blasts that travel through walls, infinate adds with reduced ability cooldowns are not only chaotic but just plain frustrating.
Bungie has yet again "taken" the easy way out by creating a horrifying user experience.
Destiny is supposed to be a game about fun, but this isn't only not fun, but makes Bungie appear less and less involved in creating enjoyable endgame challenges. If this is the future of Destiny, than Destiny may not have a future.
Stick to what destiny is about, fun. The black spindle is not a weapon I want to have, as the headache to acquire it is not worth the amount of effort Bungie has put in to creating this terrible user experience.
The more occurrences of this type of content really makes gamers question just how much of Halo did Bungie really make? I mean you can't claim to have mined gold and then sell copper. Get on your content or get out of gaming #Simple. #BungieReply
Edit: After getting the spindle my post still stands, time trials are old, and all players should expect better end game content than this. I think 99%+ of players (including myself) did not find this hidden quest by stumbling upon it.

Joined 2 guys and waited for party chat invite ( never came) mission starts and ends in one run with no communication and 1:30 left on clock. I leave with spindle and ship. Moral of the story : get good !!

A mission within a mission? New. Check. Guaranteed exotic drop? New. Check. Game mechanic that strongly encourages communication? New. Check. Fight occurs in an area that cannot be cheesed and players cannot just "sit back with an ice breaker and eat a sammich while destroying the boss? New. Check. More chaotic, less predictable enemies? 1 ReplyIt makes me chuckle, the amount of people who say that Bungie have produced a 'broken game' and write a lengthy essay about why it's broken, but yet still play the game religiously day after day. If you thought it was THAT bad, surely you would just move on to something else?

Spindle hits like a truck. So far my highest impact sniper. The stats are worth it... The perks however.. (and this is my opinion) are 1 not worth the exotic, 2 not worth the frustration of getting it. I've tried and have helped over a dozen people to do this thing. Sometimes it's a disaster and we die before even getting the boss down. And a lot of times last night we get to the last second on the last psion just for it to freaking split. With the time it takes to get it right and with so many under leveled and un equipped people trying to go through it making it harder (but still possible) imo I feel it should have the original white nail perk. Not taking ammo from your reserve... This is a freaking exotic. Or make it a legendary and keep the perk. Or add another min or 2 to make it a bit easier.

I've tried and failed getting the spindle multiple times and I'd like to say I had an absolute BLAST OF FUN losing every time.. Frustrating yes, but the fun factor is definitely there nonetheless..

For the morons who keep saying this isn't the game for him, just because he doesn't like one aspect of it, you guys are morons, the game isn't based on one single quest, so what if he didn't like it, he doesn't have to like the whole game, hell even the devs don't like the whole game. Stop saying he should leave just because he doesn't praise every little piss Bungie takes, I'm sure some of you don't like done parts of the game either, yet you are still here, right.

2 RepliesYou keep forgetting that the Black Spindle isn't required to finish any story related content. It's not necessary to go through those "bad" mechanics to beat the game. If you can't find a group or solo it don't worry about it.

I really enjoyed that hidden quest, it was great. I sometimes wonder what games people are used to, i guess i have missed out on a lot of games in my last 20 years of gaming on all platforms. Destiny is maybe one of the best games i have played. Since i rage a lot in games, i get frustrated with the problems the crucible have with LAG and delay. But that is my only complaint.
