Isn't philosophy less of fact but more of a moral Code, comparable to Buddhism?
English
-
Doesn't it depend on what kind of philosophy and philosophical ideas we are talking about?
-
Well, what philosophy are we talking about? There is more than one?
-
Isn't there philosophy about morals, and philosophies that work to explain what science does?
-
Are you admitting that philosophies can explain concepts of science?
-
Aren't I saying philosophies attempt to explain those concepts, and some may be more plausible than others? Why do you say admitting, as if I were arguing something else against this idea?
-
Isn't it true that science can be proven, but many deep philosophical ideas cannot?
But weren't you saying that philosophy could not be proven?
-
Aren't I still maintaining that it cannot be proven? Doesn't religion attempt to explain the world around us, though it can never be proven? Don't some people believe that certain religions are more plausible than others, hence their faith in that religion?
-
Edited by shell: 9/27/2015 4:24:09 PMBut can scientific theories be proven? Do we have telescopes strong enough to look at the Big Bang, if it Exist?
-
Doesn't it depend on the theory? Can telescopes ever see the Big Bang if it allegedly happened billions and billions of years ago?
-
Don't you know of Einsteins theories? That if a telescope on Pluto was pointed at Earth, we would see about 30 minutes into the past? (assuming the telescope could see earth)
-
Isn't this the first I have heard of this theory?
-
How would I know?
-
Can't you infer based off of my statement that this is the first I have heard of this theory?
-
Can't you infer that I can't on account of my asking?
-
What if I thought you were just trying to continue the conversation on, and so asked a question regarding the validity of my question? Do you prescribe to the theory of the Big Bang, are you religious, or do you blend them together?
-
Can't they both be true to some extent? Isn't it a universal law that matter can't be created or destroyed? Then what caused the Big Bang? In the end, doesn't belief in the Big Bang take as much blind faith as religion?
-
Is there such a thing as "blind" faith?
-
Isn't all faith blindly following without full evidence?
-
Are blind and full synonymous? If we have some information, would you call that blind? Are you a person that likes to think of faith as those blindly following what they believe to find solidity in life's meaning?
-
Isn't their evidence that something must have existed before the Big Bang? On another note, is this the longest comment chain on your thread?
-
Is there, are you speaking in defense of religion or science? Would you believe me if I told you this isn't even close to the longest chain?
-
Aren't both applicable? If nothing exist before the Big Bang, what caused it? If nothing existed before God, who created Him? Are you you seeing how these incessant questions only lead to more questions? What was was the original post date before you edited this? Was their a time fabulous irradiated from this thread even more then now?
-
Haven't I had debates with atheists before about this very topic? Isn't this where faith comes into play, even for those who believe in science as opposed to religion? Wasn't my original post date in June in #Destiny? For two months, didn't I get hundreds of replies a day and about 80 through the night while I was asleep? In its zenith, didn't I have conversations with dozens of people, to the point I couldn't remember who one person was unless I saw the context of our current conversation? Have you ever created any successful threads?
-
But as you said earlier, can science ever Co exist with Anything? I may have made one or two threads that got around 200 replies; but don't you think you would've heard of me if I had w successful thread? Did you know me before this encounter? Did you know that half my post are were str8 -8/8 b8 on #Destiny?
-
Why couldn't it? Don't scientists like to think they are special little snowflakes and that what they preach is true and all religion is mutually exclusive with their theories? Isn't this my first thread I actually hoped got replies? What kind of b8 do you post?
