Well, let's see... how to prove God might just exist... oh I know, anything that science can't explain.
English
-
God of the gaps... Mmkay
-
Science explains the Big Bang and evolution to man the way we are now
-
Please be satire.. We all know how well the God of the Gaps theory works :L
-
Just... No.
-
I'm pretty sure he's joking lol
-
There is so much wrong with this I can't list it all in one day...
-
That's what I was thinking
-
God of the gaps lol
-
God is the God that we need. He acts in things so small and meaningless that some people swear that that he doesn't exist and we don't depend on him for everything. If we could prove he did exist, what would be the point of doing anything when we have an omnipotent and omnipresent being looking after us?
-
Then why be Christian then?
-
That is not for me to tell... even if I told you would not listen. Faith is something I believe in, not what others believe in. What do you believe?

Edited by The_Azazel: 9/23/2015 12:58:16 AMI follow what the evidence shows, and so far, there has been no substantial evidence to support the existence of god, let alone any deity.
-
So? Science has it's flaws. Their are things that we have not and will never be able to understand and solve and this is one such thing. Why dwell on it when there is so much that we want to do and so much to be done?
-
You're changing the conversation from something that has been claimed to exist despite the lack if evidence to science in general. Of course there's going to be things we don't know, but that's no excuse to commit a god of the gaps fallacy.
-
You just don't understand. I can't make you understand either. Shouldn't even bother saying this but I might as well. When you believe in something that has no definitive proof, their is no way to prove to someone that wants proof to confirm that that something exists and it is too easy to tell someone that already believe s what you do is right. There is no way to end this argument, and with that said, I shall wander back into the toxic wastes known as the forums and try to spread some goodness and positivity. So long.

I...don't know how to respond to this

How can you? Would you stop working if you knew there was someone or something that would care for all you and all your needs and allow you to live the life that you want to without any hardships? I know I would. If God did prove he was real and everyone believed that he was always there for us, there would be no need for caring for yourself or having a will of your own if you had your whole life safely set out before you in a way that you would like it. At the other end of things, if no one believed in any divine or other being that wasn't mortal, why would we still be kind to each other each day and not always trying to take what others had be it property, a spouse or their life? Just think on this for a second. What would be the point of doing good without a God, and the point of doing anything with a God?
-
Because you are doing good for the people around you. That should be enough, you shouldn't need a god to get you to be a nice person. You should be that on your own.
-
Some people need that extra incentive to be good and not devolve into murderous beasts living on nothing but greed.
-
And to me they should get passed that and learn to be good on their own. For their own reasons not for fear of being separated from their god. But that's just my thoughts.
-
It's so sad how you need a god to find purpose in your life and in your good deeds.
-
That it is. Many people just claim faith just for the sake of their own salvation when others find it as something to stand by and for when nothing else is left.
-
I think that we should be remembering here that science deals purely with the physical guys. Anything outside of the physical is outside of science. Keep that in mind before we start arguing science vs. Christianity.
