Okay, I lied. ADHD is real, but it's heavily over diagnosed. But almost everyone diagnosed with it shows off symptoms, this most likely just a placebo.
Diagnoses of the disorder shows an age bias. Students in the same grade but different birth days are diagnosed differently. Children with earlier birthdays are less likely to be diagnosed than children with later birth days. So when there's a class filled with 10 and 11 year olds, the 10 year olds are more likely to be diagnosed.
Not only that, but there's also a gender bias. Females are less likely to be diagnosed than males. This is just because of gender bias, and not because of the minor differences between the male and female brain.

I didn't really read this second link because if I do, I'm going to have to do a bunch more research on it. So I'll just leave it here for you guys.
Now, this subject is somewhat deep and I'm not sure if three links are enough but that's what I'll leave here for now. And I encourage everyone go out and do research on the subject by themselves, either it be for or against my point.

So, you're saying that ADHD is heavily misdiagnosed?
Thanks for giving us this incredible revelation which wasn't already common knowledge.
-
Glenn died.
-
Correct. Another similar one is Autism.
-
I don't pay attention to my Gf when she talks sometimes. Do I have Adhd
-
For those confused about the difference between ADD and ADHD: ADD: Can't pay attention/focus ADHD: Can't sit still, hyperactive
-
Look, it's count bumpula! RUNNNN!!!
-
-
Jet fuel can't melt steel beams
-
Autism is also overdiagnosed. So much in fact that if a child sneezes out of turn parents freak about about having an autistic kid.
-
ADH ohh look a kitty cat and shiny object, what about a cookie...huh
-
Adhd is just an excuse most parents use to get away with their kids being misbehaved Sure there are alot of kids who truly have it, but i doubt every single kid has it

Edited by Onion Beetle: 9/20/2015 8:02:47 PMNo shit it's not real, while we're at it, let me tell you some other things that aren't real : Depression Transgenders Anxiety Aspegers ^^^ Everything I listed above is designed to make money. They all fall under the category of autism.
-
Over diagnosed because schools get more funding the more "learning disabilities" their students have.

Edited by Witch Hammer: 9/25/2015 1:09:47 AMI only know one person who truly has it, it's really easy to spot at work. Most people are misdiagnosed because they're just wild kids, and it's an excuse to drug them
-
It definitely is real but it is definitely over diagnosed
-
I've been diagnosed after a two hour, boring test listing my individual IQs and a report on my mental health. I've been on ritalin and self-disciplining myself since the diagnosis. It's a real disorder, but the current diagnosis percentages are ridiculous. Attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder shouldn't be considered until the teenage years of a child.

Semi-related.
-
But muh adderall is 2good
-
It's very heavily over diagnosed. Unfortunately, I'm one of the poor souls that actually has it. It -blam!-ing sucks.

How can ADHD not be real if our eyes aren't real?
