You little -blam!- kids should save your sword wielding for solo patrols because you are sucking really bad at high level strike. Learn to shoot and use your abilities in a strategic manner.

For real though haha I constantly get people in strikes that run up to the boss with a sword then die. I honestly don't care about swords for that reason, I've already taken a disliking to them and I haven't even got mine yet. Also how about those boosters in Rumble lol....

Actually I've used my sword to block attacks from certain enemies and bosses. For instance the raid with the Big Shank, on Heroic he would one shot me in his first form but with my Arc Sword I can block his attacks and defend my fellow players.

I'm still trying to learn the ins and outs of the sword, so yes I'm going to die once in a while. I use my sword to learn how NOT to die with it. If I didn't use it at all, I'd never get any good with it, and patrols aren't a good training activity.

I use my sword as a shield that I can quick swap to in awkward situations (like shrieker death blasts).

According to these replies no one ever dies while wielding a sword, yet in pretty much every strike I've been in there's been one guy rushing an epic enemy with it. Two seconds later and that one guy is dead, in a position where - even if I wanted too, which I don't - he can't be easily revived.

I kind of agree with this. People need to realise that weapons are situational!! I'm fed up of having to revive people when they've tried to kill that Goliath tank on the brothers strike on the dreadnaught with a -blam!-ing sword!!! Or any other ultra which likes to stomp if you get too close!!

My Friends and I are working to kill all the strike bosses in destiny with swords, it's hard but fun, and you sir don't know how to have fun.

Sword can stun lock every boss in the game. If you hold block they just try to melee you repeatedly to no avail. Let's your team shoot them with impunity.

Swords do the most damage out of any weapon. 3 swords + Melting point = Dead boss in 30s.
