This is what all mmo expansions do, this is nothing knew you fucking idiot. Nightfalls and heroic strikes are end game content and move with dlc and expansions. They are features of the game not just part of the original game. It moved up with TDB and HoW so why wouldn't it in TTK.
You still have everything you did from y1 except those (and the daily mission). It you don't want to put up the cash for the new content you don't get to do certain things.
OP is just an idiot who doesn't grasp expansions or progression. I bet you are one of those "all my y1 stuff is useless wtf bungie this is so stupid I worked so hard for my stuff!!" people. Again, not new to video games.

Name an MMO that locks content that was previously paid for when a new expansion comes out. If you name one I'll personally but you every destiny DLC until the game is dead. Go ahead.

Diablo 3
-
What previously paid for DLC content was locked by a later expansion pack?
-
Sorry, original game was locked away by expansion content

Again, someone who fails to comprehend the real issue, and resorts to personal attacks. What a surprise.
-
Personal attacks? Oh you mean insults? The real issue is that people who know nothing about video game progression and plans try to "attack" the developers and try to say the are ripping people off when that's far from it. So yes I will resort to "personal attacks" and insults when you try to falsely accuse someone of something, especially when it's not even close to being accurate. Bungie didn't cut anything out of the original game and if you think they did, you are a "fucking idiot" (personal attack).

Pray tell, how did they not remove a feature I previously paid for?

Nightfalls, heroic strikes, iron banner, ToO, and daily heroic mission are all meant for "level cap" characters (special words called End Game). Did you honestly think that with their 10 year plan that they would cater to those who haven't supported the game by purchasing the new stuff and progression through their plan? It's common knowledge that with a 10 year plan and the plan to raise the level cap that such things that reward end game type loot would be pushed up and those who didn't purchase the new content would get left behind. You expect bungie to leave nightfalls and all the other stuff behind for that specific level and make individual ones for each new dlc and expansion? No that's just stupid. They want you to experience their new product so why would you be able to still do IB at level 30 with 30 being the highest level? It's pretty sad that you haven't realized this at this point. Like I said before this isn't the only game to do this.
-
ToO was never level capped before. It was advertised as being part of the HoW DLC. You could play it without being max level. Now they add the max level to it to push users to purchase TTK. Effectively removing content that was previously advertised and paid for through another DLC.
-
Never said it was level cap only only but considered end fake content because of level advantages. IB is the same way. They have rewards for level capped characters therefore is considered end game content.

Edited by Kolegra: 9/19/2015 12:20:32 AMToO isn't open yet anyways. Good luck competing with level 40's with 290+ light when you are level 34 with 170 light. Same goes with iron banner. Daylies, weeklies and NF all have level requirements too. If you even tried them at 34 it would say 'impossible' difficulty and not let you start the mission. Sucks that they locked it away, but a level 34 character would have no chance of competing or completing those end game activities
same reason they don't let me in the NHL :*(
I watched people stream ToO and play as a level 25 and win matches against 34s. How hard/easy it is isn't relevant. The issue is that people paid for it and should be able to play it when they want.
