Yes the idea is to regulate the industry. The government will make money on taxes. They will also save money by not using resources to fight pot dealers and imprison them. Also, it will save every American money because there will be less hospital visits due to overdoses and victims of pot laced with dangerous drugs/substances. So, legalization of pot increases national and local GDP, reduces expenses, decreades the likely hood of overdoses and hospital visits, and gives the American public a substance that is less dangerous than alcohol, tobacco, and caffiene. Its a big win.
