Weed is habit forming, technically addictive.
Also people with underlying mental health problems can be affected very negatively, so there are risks for some people when it comes to smoking it.

I am pretty sure alcohol has the same effects but usually worse. I have never heard of a violent stoner, have you?

Habit forming isn't addiction though lol. If we used raw technicalities like that to determine decade-old "science", then we're dwindling in conservatism instead of thinking progressively. That's where these "well, it kind of is" points need to be debunked. It's not a universal principle and is way too biased.
